Are you using PowerStrip by chance for multiple monitor support? I ask this as searching for that last command above in Google, I found THIS thread. Not sure if it will be of much help, but its worth a look.

The "Sim.WMSGs" command looks like it could be coming from another plugin, not sure. Try disabling all plugins, and see if RR works ok. If so re-enable one at a time and see if you can find what is causing it.

No John. I never tried somothing like that. I mean Powerstrip. I spent 2 hours in my car today trying different configurations. I had no luck. I installed both new versions of RR and DFX3 at the same time. Is there a possibility that one of these programs have changed the way that uses the GPS and that's the reason that now I have the problem that I didn't before?

FYI to All:

The "Sim.WMSGs" is a completely normal line to see in the debug. What this tells you is that one more or more apps are sending rr a window message at the same. I asked the Man about those lines some time ago, because I was curious what they stood for. He had also said that 1-4 was a normal range, it when you see more larger than 4 is when you might start to see problems...

Ok, silly question I know, but I really don't want to search all over for this answer. I've set up a button controller (iMon Ultrabay) for Streetdeck and it works great. Now I want to try doing the same thing for DFX 3.0. Is there a keystroke map somewhere for the module selection without having to go into the code?

The file your looking for is the "KeyTbl.ini" in the Road Runner folder. It defines keys and what function is associated with it. Depending on what your trying to do, you might have to continue that function into the exectbl.ini file to allow you to put several rr cmds to one function.

Thanks,
I figured it out. Only thing I still don't have is the actual command for rewind 5 seconds. Fast forward is FFWD (obvious), but rewind isn't REW or RWD. Is there a command that calls the main menu? Tried MENU, but that didn't work.

try main for the main menu.

also have a read of skincommands.txt (it should be in the root of your roadrunner/roar runner folder.)

Try "PREV" and "MAIN"

Excellent! Thanks! Only have 10 buttons to worry about, but that skincommands gave me the last one I needed (FRWD).

So far, the iMon Ultrabay is extremely impressive with RR Digital FX. It knows and displays song info (MP3's), equalizer, and on internet radio, it knows and displays station, ip, song, artist, (album I think). Internet radio also sounds really good! It doesn't know XM, and when navigation starts (iGuidance), it "loses" it's place and doesn't know where RR is. In other words, once navigation starts, the iMon buttons quit working until you touch some button on RR. It also knows when CNN is playing and when the last update was (readout shows CNN update xx/xx at xx:xx).

Finally got around to installing DFX3.0 and so far it is truly amazing!

I could sure use some help with a few things. I did a search but I must have searched for the wrong keywords so if you could point me in the right direction I'll read it for myself.

First thing. I checked out the "themes" and picked the emerald green theme. However after that I decided to go back to my old DFX2.0 look and no matter what I do it stays as that theme. I used to have the blue coral back ground with the dodge icon with the analog clock around it. I can get the clock part to work but the menu itself is still that theme and not the background walpaper or the other things I can choose under settings.

Second thing. In the first post there is a screen shot showing some sort of visualization and the caption says "menu with visualization enabled" What must I do to get my menu to display that? Do I need to change my winamp visualization from milkdrop to something else?

Third, when I go to that setting where I can change the color of the menu and then save them as day or night skin and then below it are buttons saying "switch to day or switch to night" nothing happens. I can pick a color and click save to day and when I click switch to day nothing changes. Likewise with night. No change anywhere.

I'll mess with it more tomorrow. I was just stuck on these three things.

1) Go into the settings/Digital FX settings, and choose "Change skin wallpaper"

2) Real the help file under "How do I set up visualizations"

3) The day night stuff has not yet been implemented.

Thanks John! I'm heading out to my Van to check it out now. One thing: You say the day/night stuff has not yet been implemented but I saw a youtube video that you posted showing it working. That is why I messed with it.

I am hoping to get this all working today. It has been a long while coming.

Check out my van @ this link if you are bored.

Well, they are "kind of working"

Meaning, that you can set a day color, and a night color. By returning to the screen, you can click on load day and load night to recall them.

What is not completed, is for this to be automatic. I have a script that will get your sun rise and set times from your GPS location. All that is left is for a way to trigger when this time occurs, without a script running 100% of the time to just look at the time.

Ok, I have everything that *I* use working so far. That would include mp3's, picture viewer, gps (iguidance 3.0), XM radio, DVD.

Two things I am still having an issue with.

Q: Is it still necessary to go through those 101 steps in order to get flash to work with less cpu hit? I used IE to go to adobes site and after uninstalling RR/ DFX3.0/ All flash and shockwave stuff, then installing adobe flash and whatever the other thing they have there to install, I then installed RR and then installed your skin. Got it all working however with nothing going on..eg, no music playing or anything loaded.. My CPU is at about 20%. If I load an mp3 it goes up to about 40% and if I load up iguidance it then climbs up to about 70%. I noticed that if I switch the flash clock around to a less complicated version it will drop it down quite a bit. I tried it with hardware acceleration down one notch and at full. No difference. ** Note: I am not having the 100% cpu problem. Just trying to get the 3% while playing mp3's that some people are posting. I have a celeron 2.4Ghz P4 with 1gb of ram. should be plenty yes? I am using onboard video though. Maybe that is it.

Q: No matter what I do I can not get the old logo back instead of a analog clock. I'll keep messing with it but I go to the dfx skin settings and choose the dodge chrome logo and it goes back to the menu still showing the clock. I used to have (and I loved) the dodge chrome logo with the flash clock around it and the compass underneath it. Kinda like this one except he has the digital clock instead of the analog hands around the logo like I had in dfx 2.5:

Except dodge. I can not get this back. I seem to be stuck with the big flash spinning logo or clocks.

P.S. I have read the help file and the first 27 pages of this thread. I am sure the answer was on page 28.

you have to change the menu layout to "stationary logo" ....then change the logo
