Still trying to figure out the sliders, there's not a really great place for them, some screens have room for the songpos, but not all, which would be ideal...

awesome, fixed it to show the gauge correctly. Took me a while to split the GPS port correctly so both RR and iGuidance received the GPS info stream, but everything looks good now.
Even though the speed gauge worked, it felt really laggy even after trying all the tips to get flash to display smoothly, so I scrapped it. I also felt having the song scroll along the bottom and displayed on the home menu was a bit redundant so I only kept the bottom scroll. I'm a little strange because I organize my songs by file name instead of tags, so this menu.skin wouldn't be good for most people (althogh it's easy to change it back).
After some tweaking I got something with a little different feel on the home menu. Since I don't pay for a city wide wireless internet account, I felt an internet indicator would be useful. I'm not sure I put it in the best place, but it's small enough it doesn't really get in the way. Most of it is just stuff that I'm interested in that other people may not be so interested in (lat/lon, altitude, #satellites, CPU&MEM load). I guess the date in long format and the internet indicator are what would appeal most to other people.
This is the first time I've tried my hand at any RR skin editing. I think it looks fairly clean since I had a good structure to build off of and I wasn't doing anything overly complicated. Just thought I'd share how I bastardized your creation
edit: I've also attached a screenshot to show what it looks like on my system. If I was connected to the internet, "wifi" would show in small letters below and to the left of the 'C' in CPU load. And to save you the trouble, somewhere on Illinois st. Golden, CO.
With V3, Almost all of the labels you put in the screenshot are going to be selectable from a menu or by pressing the area where the labels are. There will also be a better 800x600 version released.
Your gps antenna and RR only update at a 1hz interval (once per second) and that's why it's laggy. This is both a hardware and software issue, and there's not really a good way to get around it.
You can tell by my gas prices screen shot approx where I am (1.7 miles from 350 s union...) Nice to see someone from around here.

haha, I don't know about you, but I have to have something to keep me busy when it's not ski season! I'm looking forward to the v3 800x600 release. I'm not competent enough to resize and move everything around so it looks native.
I'll probably keep playing with it. Maybe I'll put the speed gauge back in the center and take out the lat/lon. Actually, I thought I saw a thread with a collection of flash animations. I think I'll try to find a compass to replace the speed gauge. I don't know why, but I've always found something very satisfying about programming in notepad.
Thanks! I was working off of happyg's swi (looks like the same you based off of) and I couldn't get the E to behave. The letter would rotate slowly on its own, even when the heading was fixed. It was really annoying, so I went with the fixed letters. This was the first time I've ever used Swish, so I'm sure I was missing something obvious.
still working on this... I've got a few new symbols in the carpc font. For them to work right, you'll have to uninstall the old carpc.ttf, and install the new one. Here's a screenshot of the new symbols:
New nav symbol, new gas prices symbol (old symbol with $ added), and new settings symbol. There are two settings/tools symbols available, one with just the wrench, and one with the wrench and screwdriver as shown.
The 800x600 version will be about a week behind the 480, since there's a lot of moving and lining up to do.

I've got almost all of v3 done, but I am going to test it in the car for a week to find out what needs fixing. I have noticed with the overlay plugin, sometimes it doesn't play nice.
I'm trying to also integrate WLIVE.exe into this, but not all users will use this, so it's a hidden button for now (except in the webbrowser, the email icon will bring it up.) There's some hotkeys issues that I'm trying to work out, but AI might get around this.
An example of this is getting the contacts to display right. In wlive.exe if I press ALT-T-L while the cursor is in the "To:" field, it will bring up the contacts, but if I use RR to activate the window, the cursor doesn't remain in the "To:" field, and the contacts option becomes disabled. There are a few others.
The end benefit with this is that those using outlook or outlook express will be able to get the same kind of functionality.

Yes, the thermometer changes depending on the temperature, but there's an issue with this that I'm still working on...
(and yes, it's august, and we're looking at barely getting into the 60's today, when not more than a couple weeks ago we had record highs and record #days over 90)

I got the temperature sliders fixed (previous post) and I'm not sure why I did it the way I did before in mAv1c. I'm really racking my brain with the rest of the sliders that will be there on every screen (SongPos, Volume, and Battery)
Here's what I've got for the battery level:
Users without powermon will not see this slider or charge indicator.
The top one is the one I'm leaning towards for readability, but the bottom one looks cooler, it's a scaled down version of this one I made:
I can not figure out what I want to do with the songpos and volume sliders though. I don't use the volume on the sound card, since I've got audio routed to the deck, but it is good information.
I'm leaning towards putting a progressive slider behind the time label for volume, but I'm not sure I really like it there. For the songpos I was thinking the same thing, putting a progressive slider behind the text, but that doesn't work for any scrolling text.
I've been looking at different things to try and get inspired for this, other interface designs, etc. Suggestions are definitely welcome.

I'm going with the battery slider for sure, but I'm still playing with the other sliders. I like the songpos slider above (it's actually two duplicate sliders) and I've set the clickable area to be more finger friendly. I'm trying to figure out what color I want to use for that. Red seems to be contrasting enough to see in the daylight, but black would be completely contrasting. Thoughts?
There's an issue with having the clickable area over a scrolling label (scrolling labels are killing me) that when you click further in the song, until you move the mouse, the song just repeats that position every second.
At least with these sliders, they can be on every screen, and are consistent throughout.
