You have to setup a backgrounds directory. Generally people are using the following path:
C:\Program Files\Road Runner\Backgrounds
then set it that way in your RRCONFIG -> skins -> background picture path
Then make sure you have some JPG's in that directory and voila you should be able to select your background from with in newage.
If you do not have a background path setup with images in that folder the background changer will screw up and RR will close.

Is there a way someone else can help out with that? I live in a rural area and don't have HD radio. XM or Sirius is the only good option for radio in my area. Also, I drive lengthy trips at frequent intervals that have no HD radio.
Is it just a matter of generating a new skin with XM content?

Yup all you would have to do is creat an XM.skin file using the skin editor. Should not be too hard actually. Then go in to the exectble.ini in the new age folder and edit the RADIOINDI command so that it loads XM instead of RADIO.
Other than that should be pretty simple.

Speed Zone Pluggin updated with better direction detection - download speedlimit.zip from the first post
then unzip in to the scripts folder inside the NAV2 folder in your Road Runner/SKINS directory
Overwrite the old one

Thx for the Carnetix plugin!! Been hoping someone would do this!!
Gave it a try, and it's working great. I've got it displaying psu temp and car bat volt on most of my screens.
Is it possible to display the shutdown delay countdown in seconds?
Also I'm assuming that i can pause winamp when I turn my ignition off by monitoring !P2140SHUTDOWNDELAY ?
Basically when I turn my ignition off I'd like to display the seconds remaining in RR and to automatically pause winamp (or trigger other events).
Thx man and happy holidays...

XM Screen
For anyone wanting XM in this skin, I created one from the HD radio screen - complete with all the bells and whistles, working signal strength meters, and 6 preset buttons. Instructions are in the rar.

Thanks for doing this, I probably would not have. I will include it with the next release.

Thunder, if there is a way to easily incorporate a slider on the front that you can fast forward with, I'd be interested in this skin.
All of my music files are 2 hr broadcasts Minimum, so the ability to jump forward is needed.
Its not a request by any means, but I just thought I'd throw it out there for you, since you designed such a nice skin to go with Garmin! And now with the XM being included, its a big selling point for me.

I dont like sliders a whole lot but what if I added the ability to fast forward by pressing and hold the next and prev buttons?

I could not really use that. It wouldn't do me much good.
Ex, on my road trip to VT this past week (10 hr drive) - I listed to a .mp3 I downloaded that was 9 hrs long. How would you fast forward through that?
IN DFX, I just tap the slider and Bam! Instantly jump ahead.
Like I said, its just a thought/suggestion - its your skin so you may not feel its necessary.
