Enforcer sent me the Traffic Cams version. I am setting it up transparent now. It was taken out of the released version.

My version also has the IG overlay in it that the non transparent version with the installer is missing. We know not everyone uses IG so we left it out of the official release but this version uses it because I use IG.

ok, noticed it doesn't write out a full path to a bg jpg... in skin.ini...

$backgroundpath$ ===> problem?

Did you get it working then or do I need ot look at it. Exectbl.ini has the bgpath specified. LMK if it does not work.

it doesn't work... it's not writing out a full path to skin.ini file...

By the way, i love the transparent look and i think enforcer's suggestion is a key to perfecting this... transparency of top and bottom just doesn't seem right.. Kinda depends on which bg you select, but u know what i mean..

again, great work dude.. i love carwings design.. it's so original.

Note that the Trafficams files you have are for the standalone version and not the RRplugin.

I do know that. Thank You. I am waiting for the Plug in version to get it added in.

A quick note I will be uploading the PSD file for this skin when I am done with it so everyone can do what they wish with it.

I will look at it when I get home. In you rrr.ini backgroundpath should point at the background folder in carwings. I am sure you looked at it but just to be sure.

Fixer, have you figured out a way to edit the main menu from within the skin?

I'm looking forward to playing with GMPC with the OSK. I've been too lazy to get it working on my own.

I can do that but then we lose the "depth" of the letters. I like the look of the drop shadow effect so ...

It is already set up to use GMPC. If you download the files and follow the directions supplied with it it will work out of the box. Single clicking the nav button launches IG and click and hold Navi button launches GMPC with the overlay.

I just did a "clean" install from the new installer and added this skin and you are right it does not work unless you have
backgroundpath=C:\Program Files\Road Runner\skins\Carwings_V2_Transparent\backgrounds
in your rr.ini

background is specified but not backgroundpath is not. This skin uses the backgroundpath command. I believe DFX uses the background command though, so they can be set to different directories without any problem. After I added that to my rr.ini the image preview worked fine. Thanks for pointing it out and I will add it to the instructions in the first post.

.

You could always have the labels duplicated, one black and one in white (or whatever forecolour) and then have the black one 2 pixels down and two pixels to the right
