Any help would be appreciated. Again, thanks guys.

Thanks guys (both of you that just replied).
I know writing user manuals is tough, especially to try and put yourself in the place of a complete novice like myself.
Ok, I'll clean it up (but not now, time to go out!)

More Issues.
Ok, I wiped out and reinstalled RR. Then I copied the extracted RR directory from the Carwings_transparent download into my C:\Program Files\Road Runner directory and followed the readme that came with it..
Then downloaded Enforcers Plugins (thanks for the help enforcer on pointing me in the right direction). Then I Followed the Readme with Carwings and added movietimes too (these were steps 3,4 and 5 of the Carwings-T readme).
Then I get to step 6 in the readme
Quote:
6.
Go to "C:\Program Files\Road Runner\Skins\Carwings_Transparent\coverflow" and run "Register.bat" then run "builder-artist.exe"
Register.bat seems to work fine, then I run builder-artist.exe and I get the following error:

Did I screw something up?
With Enforcer's guidance, I extracted all of the 3 plugins I downloaded Per steps 3,4 and 5 of the Carwings-Transparent readme to my dekstop, then copied the folders to my RR\Plugins folder (that I created).
My directory structure looks like the following:

Go to your coverflow folder and:
run "xmlparser.exe"
delete builder.ini
run builder_artist.exe

Ok, I got past that. Then its asking me for album art, and I don't have any...
Oh well. Shifting Gears.
I have more questions about the instructions in the !!README included in Carwings_transparent skin directory.
Taking a look at the following instructions:
Quote:
7.
ADD THESE ENTRIES TO "EXECTBL.INI"
"ONFILECLICK","SETVARBYCODE;imgfilename;LISTTEXT", backgrounds.skin
"ONSKINSTART","$default$"
"ONFILECLICK","SETVARBYCODE;imagefilename;LISTTEXT ",bg_browser.skin
"UPDATE_IMAGE","SETVARBYCODE;imagefilename;LISTTEX T"
8.
For Garmin Mobile PC keyboard to work read GMPC_README.TXT (INCLUDED IN THIS FOLDER) and follow authors directions.
Click and hold to activate this feature once directions are followed.
Do I need to do this? It looks like those lines are already in the ExecTBL.ini file, and I did not add them.
ALso
I am still unclear if this skin includes the Garmin OSK. but I've read through the gmpc_readme.txt file -in particular, this part:
Quote:
For these files to work right, you will need to perform the following functions;
//on the button that accesses your GPS screen, you will need to change it to this:
"GMPC||GMPC_OVERLAY||RUNGMPC"
//Alternately, you can add this to make it a press and hold function:
@GMPC||GMPC_OVERLAY||RUNGMPC@
I don't know what file to look in that controls the button that accesses my GPS screen. What file do I edit? I am new to RR.
Also, further down in the gmpc_readme is this:
Quote:
//Add these lines to your skin's exectbl.ini:
"GMPC_OVERLAY","RUN;$SKINPATH$ElcosMenu.exe|GMPCOL .skin"
"GMPCOSK","RUN;$SKINPATH$ElcosMenu.exe|GMPCOSK.ski n"
"X_OVERLAY","SENDMSG;ElcosMenu;Exit"
"GMPC","LOAD;GMPC.skin"
"RUNGMPC","RUN;$garminpath$;!CDP",GMPC.skin
But when I look in Carwings-Carwings transparent ExecTBL.ini, it already has those lines added. SO I assume I dont add them again, right?
I don't mean to be a pain, I'm just confused...
Also, I don't have HD radio or Sirius, but I have XM (and I got that to play through RR finally!) - how do I remove those buttons that basically do nothing from RR when it starts up?
Also, is there no slider to quickly Fast Forward through music files with this skin? Most of my music files are large (200MB) single files, so they are like 2 hr radio shows (Above & Beyond TATW, Armin's ASOT - and the like I have like 2TB of music files - and some are 8 hrs long broadcasts). Sorry if these are horribly obvious questions I am asking...

For Garmin; All you need to add is the program path in your rr.ini file. Everything else is already done.
For removing buttons; You have to use the sdk files in photoshop to edit the menus.
For Fast Forwarding; There is a progress indicator at the top of the music screen, between the text "MP3 Player and the folder icon. It looks like an upside down triangle. It is on the small side, so you will have difficult skipping with it.

As of now, Garmin does not launch when I click the button. A menu pops up to the left, but I don't know what that does or how to get rid of it other than exiting RR and restarting.

Ok, I think that is over my head at this point. I'm already super confused. I'll skip this for now

That's because you're not long pressing the navigation button. Short press is for iGuidance, long press for Garmin. You can change this by editing the skin file.

OSK to match skin added to dowwnload. If you downloaded before 10/27 addedlink to just the OSK. Just drop in your carwings_transparent skin folder.

Downloaded the new installer and the source and just wanted to say, EXCELLENT!
The PSD is very organized, and I like how you converted the menu names to a more dynamic method. Makes adding menus much easier then redoing the art each time. Stellar work.
I also noticed a lot of click and hold commands in the code, makes operation quick and easy.
Very nice job fixer, this is really the type of project I wanted to see come out of the SDK from v 1.0

Probably one of the best RR skins I have seen yet. Just fantastic work!

Fixer, I am very impressed with this version, I've been wanting to do this for awhile to Carwings, very useful addition! Just need to add the new dimmer function to the menu
Looking at your code and art I see many, many changes to both, especially the way you handle the mouse overs and button press, the art looks to be highly optimized for speed. I'm just in awe of your work here. Many thanks for sharing!
I would like to extend an offer for your hard work and contributions to Carwings. The Carwings V2 psd file as shown in post #14. I don't have the time to work on it right now and if anyone deserves the newer art it is you fixer! PM me your email if you want me to send it to you.
