Carwings

Updated the way radio presets are stored and added a second group of presets. Access presets 7-12 by pressing "preset" text at the bottom of the screen.

Interesting, personally though I would have the top, bottom and the curve non transparent.

Or at least less transparent than they are now.

This is with top and bottom not transparent and buttons less transparent. Tell me what you think.

Again, Iwould remove transparency from the curved bit as well.

Looks odd with the pattern showing through from behind.

if you want to go with the slightly transparent curve, you will need to make sure the bottom bar layer is higher than the curve in photoshop

Im no expert so far be it for me to say which looks better, however i do like the transparency, i saw the preview of the one you were working on merging the shoch and carwings. It doesn't look good with that background in particular, too many shades. Secondly whats the deal with the brushed aluminum? and lastly i think that little semicircular space on the left of the main menu is a pain to look at, unless there is something or some information that show up there. My 2 cents.

Better, but still would prefer the menu non transparent.

This is only my opinion, no doubt others will disagree with me.

It's not a matter of being an expert, it's what you like and don't like that matters.

But at the end of the day it's up to fixer as he is the one doing it.

Yes. As soon as I get the images right. I had it in and took it out to get a test out.

Looks great fixer! I like the fully transparent version in the first screens, but the curve menu's do need to be cleaned up a bit on the top and bottom. The overlap cannot been seen in solid but when you make the bars transparent and you can see the curve overlap it looks sloppy.

Anyway keep up the great work! I never imagined that carwings would end up going so far, we owe some credit to dopefish too, he is the one who came up with the original idea and layout.

Keep in mind I could have easily made carwings transparent in the beginning, I chose not to purposely in order to keep the skin small, and very QUICK! I've noticed the GDI+ skins are not quite as responsive.

Fixer was not merging the skins, this was my doing Posted in the original Carwings thread, there are a couple renders but the one I ended up settling on was this:

I has the "multi-layer" transparent effect going on, but it's done very cleanly.
Also gets rid of the left side dead space. Anyway just wanted to set the record straight. If there is interest in this design perhaps I'll release the PSD to see what happens I can be the resident RR graphic artist.

I have since cleaned them up and am trying to decide what I like. I will work on it tonight and make a decision and redo all the files correctly.

i am not sure if it's a bug or not... when changing backgound, it shows no background.. Even modified skin.ini manually, didn't help.. any idea?

ok, noticed it doesn't write out a full path to a bg jpg... in skin.ini...

$backgroundpath$ ===> problem?
