I got the same 438 error. Only thing I did was change the ATT to 30 and then restarted RR. Not sure if this had anything to do with it. I too have to reinstall LSX 3.2 for it to start working. Base skin works fine.

i dont think its linked to any specific function. mine just popped up outta nowhere in the middle of visiting library and playlist screens. something being called in the bg i suppose...but i didnt think LS changed any core components from the 3.0 release which I never got this error with. i uninstalled 3.2 and reinstalled 3.0 just to verify, and no error in 3.0. weird.
EDIT: hahaha, ok i did exactly what LS said not to do and left my 3.0 installed and then installed 3.2 over it. the error went away. probably just some small thing missing from the install package in 3.2. can't blame the guy, he was workin til 4am!! i did notice that in 3.2 (before the error) the divider between the end of the playlist and the beginning of it was just purple bar (like the graphic was missing), whereas in 3.0 it was this triple dot image. now that i have installed 3.2 over 3.0, the purple bar is gone, but the triple dot image isnt there either. i have NO idea if this is related or not, but thought id throw it out there. btw this is on my brand new pentium m laptop that i just got today with a fresh windows (full version, not nlite), rr, and lsxvoid install.
EDIT 2: nevermind, got the error 30 minutes later, DOH!

I'm having a problem. I uninstalled RR, LS, winamp and re-installed all of the programs. When I click on the Audio button, RR freezes. Any ideas? Anyone else having this problem?

only thing i can suggest is reinstall your video card drivers, download and reinstall directx, and reboot your machine. are you running on a virtual machine by any chance or is this directly on your carpc in windows? i know dx wont work on my mac while running windows in parallels.

This is directly on my pc. I just downloaded Directx 9c. I'll install and reboot. The weird thing is that pressing the audio button worked the first time and that was it. Looks like no music in the car tomorrow.

thats weird, when i tried, it wouldnt even work once. go figure. hopefully guino finds a way to make the code more robust, but i dont even know if its in his hands. try visiting the video or gps screen see if that freezes too. it shouldnt. only conclusion i can draw is that its something to do with the ilists.

I had LSX 3.0 installed and was working ok. I uninstalled 3.0, installed 3.2 and now I can't get any music to load. I load an album but the playlist will stay empty. I tried a different skin and still can't get any music to load. I open winamp locally and it plays the music I loaded. I updated road runner to 11/4/2007 install, re-installed winamp 5.13, and re-installed LSX 3.2.
Any thoughts why I can't get music to play in road runner, but it plays in winamp locally?

here's a snap shot of my menu after I load an album (from library).
I also have album art that was working before I installed 3.2

Hari,
I tried your trick of uninstalling 3.2...re-installing 3.0, and then installing 3.2 over 3.0. My problem has been solved also. There is something definitely missing in the install file of 3.2.
EDIT: I spoke too soon. Everything was working fine, but now I get the 438 error.

humm, cant say ive ever seen that error before. Have you guys tried re-registering your dlls?
For the guy who cant get audio to play, it sounds like u need to register the winamp.dll.
I dont know if the RR installer does any of this for you or not, i dont use it cuz it has bad defaults.
If people are finding installing 3.2 over 3.0 works better, ill have to take a look at the 3.2 installer and see if anything is not right. Installing 3.2 ontop of 3.0 is fine as its not like 2.x at all which had significantly different core parts.

Also the Error 438.
Found something, maybe is has to do something with it?
BTW, really nice Skin!
Had it working for a while untill this error appeared.....
This is what i think the problem is also.
and when i think about it more, i did remove the GDIplusswrapper.dll file from the install because i felt this is something that RR should handle itself. So if you uninstalled 3.0 via the uninstaller it probably unregistered the dll as well. Which is why i removed it to begin with, its not really my place to include that file. But was originally included in an effort to prevent having to do it manually which is a pain in *** in the car.
A fresh RR install should restore the dll.
