Just found out that it still isnt working with the Big VIS option and some other VIS options.
After a reboot or restart it shows the same Error 438 again.

For the people who want to know: The autobot and decepticon works as background

I have 2 problems.
First one is that all symbols (play, next, pause, up, ...) are represented as ASCII chars. I did a fresh install (installer 2.0.0.24) of RR, removed the LXVOID fonts and then a install of lxvoid 3.2.

Second is that when i change the layout (small vis for example). "Error 13, type mismatch" is reported when RR starts. RR closes when clicking OK. The problem did not occur with the default skin and only when I change the layout.

Actually, it looks like you have an older version of RR (9/30/07). Download the latest binaries to get you to 11/4.

LS:

Small request (at least I hope it's small), would it be possible to have a main screen that displays the iList without the album art or logo?

I've tried the screen options and don't see this one there, or am I being blind?

To STRAY: what language is your windows in?
Cause at first I installed a french windows with everything set up in french and I had the same problem. I reinstalled french windows, but this time with everything set in english and it works fine.

Crap, got the 438 error now.

Update: copying menu.skin has no effect. A reinstall of 3.2 sets everything right again, but if I mess with the vis options 438 error returns. Guess I'm in the "438 club" now too..........

Also, iList's keep disappearing on the audio skin when left idle for a few secs (around 5-10 secs or so) and return with a "touch" of the blank area. I've read that is a apparently a new RR bug. Hopefully guino fixes that up soon as not being able to use the ilist option on the main screen and disappearing in the audio screen is sure a PITA.............

i think the entire point was to copy that menu.skin over and then USE it for now, i.e. don't switch to another layout. seems like there is a bug with any menu that has ilists, so you cant use any that have ilists for the time being. like the previous post stated, either the transformers menus also work fine for now.

on another note:
this is probably not your priority right now, but just letting you know that i am having the same issue with my jump drive not being read in xplorrer. this is on a brand new system i just got with a fresh and full xp install. it worked intermittently in the beginning, but now even exiting rr and restarting it doesnt make it work again.

however, there is a workaround in the form of a BROWSE.RRL file. anyone else who is having this same issue, please see: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-f...dio-video.html for the workaround.

this allows you to browse your jumpdrive and cd drive directly from xplorrer and also your library (convenient when you have just brought in new music). holding the 'BROWSE DIR [down]' button will return you to your home audio directory. beware though, clicking the cd drive when no cd is present produces some strange effects and caused a lockup in xplorrer, so dont hit it unless you've got a cd in there.

on a brighter note: i tested out the copy,paste,delete, and copy2 functions and they work perfectly (i dont know what send2 is for, so no report on that). also, color picker is NOT locking my system, nor is the theme selector. the maps skin also works very well, but the sidebar seems to be hogging a bit too much space.

if you need anything else tested, please let me know. ive got a fresh test system sitting here with internet access and nothing else installed except rr, your skin, and ig4. so it is very easy for me to test things out quickly.

For now, stick with only menu options that DO NOT have an ilist, which i think is only the default and the transformers. Or, you can always hand edit the menu.skin file for the layout you want to use and remove the ilist from it.
Ill be posting a small download that will include all the menu options without ilist, and when the bug is fixed another one to re-enable them.

Erroy 13, type mismatch means you have an older version of RR installed.
The RRInstaller is about 2 months old. The best way to stay current with your RR release is to download the binary releases



An option for an ilist with no album art and no logo is definately possible. There is an extra button for a layout , right next to the google layout that is a dupe. I can use that as the new option. Of course that wont happen till after the bug is fixed in RR that prevents ilist on the main menu.

in the audio player, the ilist should change to album art after a few sec. I changed it to 5 sec for testing cuz it wasnt working for some reason, then forgot to change it back to 60 sec. Ill post another audioplayer.skin that fixes the idle timeout. But if you do not want it to autoswitch to display album art, go to OPT>General Options>Audio Player CFG and change Auto Album Art to OFF. Also, It appears to be blank when it switches because you dont have any album art for the song your playing.




glad that everything is working out for you. I havnt changed anything with the color picker or theme selector other than adding new themes. So im still unsure what the problem was with 3.0 in that area you and a small few had, but glad its working for u now.

What kind of thumb drive do you have? I have a few usb drives and 2 thumbdrives here, one is a lexar jumpdrive and the other is a sandisk micro cruzer. Both show up fine. One thing to note, the drives must be plugged in and present before RR starts and or before you enter the explorrer screen. I believe i only check for new drives when RR first loads and again when you enter the explorer screen. There could be an issue with how your drive is identifying itself to the system, since some of the drives do some weird stuff to support standalone installs of apps, like one thumbdrive i have has 2 drive letters and one of them shows up as a CD drive, but its really just a disk image on the thumbdrive that mimics a cd.
Since the action of scanning for the drives on the system is totally independent of the actual explorer screen and features, you can disable the autoscan and manually specify the drives you want to use.
To disable the drive scan, edit ExecTBL.ini inside the skins folder.
Edit line #7 and remove the CHECKDRIVELETTERS command from that line. But DO NOT change anything else on that line or you will break the whole skin.
Then edit SKIN.ini and scroll to the bottom of the file, you will see where it list the drive letters. Just fill in the drive following the same pattern for drives already present.
Note any new drives you add or remove will NOT show up unless they are in listed in skin.ini.


The SEND2 button will copy any item you have selected in the list to either your MUSIC,PICS or VIDEO path. Since those are likely the most common file transfers, you can just do it with one click instead of the copy and paste.

Can anyone confirm weather or not the skin defaults with an ilist on the main menu or only after you pick it with menuoptions?

Gmaps- The side bar should automaticly close after you first open the maps screen. I know there is a timing issue with this as people have slower or faster machines. But just so you know, the side bar should only show up when its actually needed. The google maps stuff is still beta, so over time it will improve and even be completely rewritten as some features i want to add cant be done with the current way it works. Im slowly reading up on the google api's for maps so in the future there will be a whole new maps thats 10x better and hopefully something that u can actually use for navigation regularly.

This is a fix for the audio player idle time out.

This will set the time out from 5sec to 60 sec, where it should be.

This is related to the auto album art view in the audio player.

After RR is idle for 60 sec (no mouse movement) it ill auto switch the playlist to show album art of the current song. Yes this is a feature, not a bug. If you do not have album art for the song, then it will appear as if the list just faded away to nothing. So it may look like a bug if you dont have art.

If you do not prefer to have the auto album art view, you can turn it off in OPT>General Options>Audio Player CFG

unzip the file attatched to this post inside of the skin folder and overwrite the existing audio_player.skin file.

-in regards to your question whether the default menu contains an ilist, the answer is yes. i had it up and running for a few minutes before i got the error and it was purty

-in regards to your question about the jumpdrive, i have a simple kingston datatraveler drive, with no fancy or proprietary security or encryption software, and i have reformatted the entire drive to fat32 in mac and pc more than once. ill give a shot to your custom drive letter solution, but its just weird that it was working and then stopped. also, just to clarify, the drive letter E:\ shows up in the list along the bottom, but when I click it, nothing happens.

-also in regards to the SEND2 button, what you described above sounds like the function of the COPY2 buttons for sending files directly to your most used folders. i still dont get what SEND2 does.

-in regard to google maps, the sidebar did not close even when i manually typed in several addresses or locations in the search box. not the end of the world, just something to note as you move forward i suppose.

-also i noticed several things which are mostly insignificant and don't affect functionality much. numbers 1 and 2 are bigger, the remaining ones are minute.

1) in your seeq function, if you preview a file the audio player stops. however if you exit the seek skin and start playing a song again, the audio file being previewed does not stop, and both play simultaneously. also, for some reason, sometimes when i exit the seeq screen and go back to audio, it just cycles through my playlist, playing each song for 2 seconds. i have to go back into seeq and hit 'stop' to fix it.

2) in BBAA, using search seems to bring up a list of files containing the search word. however, the files are listed with no picture above them (not even an empty folder icon) and the full path of the file is displayed rather than the file name, making it necessary to wait for the text to scroll across before you can actually see the name of the song. also, using this search somehow breaks the album art icons above each of the albums, so that even in BBAA view, the entire list is displayed without any album art, only the text (i can upload a pic if need be)

2)also, your seeq function allowed me to find files on another computer on my network which i dont even have the password for or access to. how is this possible? maybe im just going crazy, but i disabled the network card and the files did not show up, and then when i re-enabled it and re-searched, they showed up again.

3)the blackout screen has the wifi icon in the upper right corner showing.

4) the triple dot graphic between the end of an ilist and the beginning is not there anymore like it was in 3.0

5)rolling over the DEL button in xplorrer shows the wifi icon in the background.

You can use any menu...you just have to get into the skin file and REM out the ilist. Look for this line in the menu skin located in the root directory of the skin (once you have a menu with an ilist):

IL,PL,transparent.bmp,sel.bmp,end.bmp,0,70,50

to REM it out just put a / in front of it.

when I did this, it changed the ilist back to the old type list.


LS, I messed up my main menu by accidentally changing the OPT button to Games. I looked for the Opt button to change it back but couldn't find it. Where in the skin file do I change it back to Opt and what is the Opt button number?

There should be a CONFIG button. That's the OPT button.

On another note, my system DOES lock up with the color picker. Haven't tried themes yet. This didn't happen to me in 3.0. It just started to happen with the 3.2 install.

Another one, when I open NAVI (iGuidance) I get those 2 pop up displays. I think one is like a full screen minimize (top right) and the other has like a play, forward, reverse and I think an ATT button. After I close NAVI the 2 menus are still their. Are those 2 menu's only supposed to appear in full screen mode of the GPS? I don't switch to full screen and they appear.

Well, that certainly makes sence about why the ilist disappeared...........

Working fine now.

Does disabling auto album art mean it will now not show on the main screen (well, once ilists are fixed) or is this option only apply to the audio screen?

The album art on the audio screen is a nice feature (now that I see I was using my files without album art embedded, doh!), would it be possible to toggle it back and forth either through a button or a "click" instead of it doing it automatically or not at all? That would give users the option of having art when they want it...................
