Damn, now it just magically started working. Now I have another problem. Sometimes RR will just go to black and the music still plays. Any ideas?

Now everything is magically working again. No black screen after several restarts of RR. Dunno!

have a few, hopefully simple questions:
1) Any ideas on why my music does not resume on RR startup? I do have the option selected in RRconfig

2) Any ideas on why when I select Shuffle and then I exit and then start RR again, the setting of Shuffle did not stick? I do have the option "remember last setting" or whatever the wording was for the shuffle option in RRconfig

3) When RR starts, how do I make my iGuidance start up with it so when I click the GPS button, there is not that 3 to 5 second initial delay waiting for it to start up?

does rrearth use the same gps port as rr? if it does, then how can the compass and GE be running at the same time, because wouldnt the compass use up the port? is there somewhere to set the gps port for GE?

I found out that when you exit roadrunner, start en exit rrconfig and then start roadrunner again that the music isn't even playing anymore, even with resume on.

Another thing:
- The music is playing and you shutdown your Carputer without exitting the Skin (EXIT BUTTON).
- Startup carputer and roadrunner again.
- The music starts from the point you'd actually pressed the EXIT button (not from the last reboot, but when i normally exited the skin).

So resume only works when i press the EXIT button on the skin??

1. This is an RR issue/bug there are many threads about it. It has something to do with your shutdown, RR isnt being allowed the time to save the info before windows kills the process. Not 100% what the solution is, but there is one.

2. The settting sticks for me. It may be related to #1

3. create a shortcut to IG and stick it in your windows startup folder. In the options for the shortcut there is an option for the app to start minimized so u dont see it till RR calls it.

GE gets its info from RR so does the compass. RR takes one port and the info is available to anything that request it. Since the compass and GE run native to RR they dont need to take direct control of the port. IG does though because it has zero knowledge of RR.

also note. Most if not all of these issues are general RR issues. I dont mind answering them here, but you would get much quicker replies to these type of questions in the general RR section where more people can see it.

STATUS UPDATES:

working on the ilist fix, something that seemed really simple to fix turned out to be a lot more complicated than a simple /. I have it setup so there is no need to have a separate set of files or skin that had ilist disabled. I simple on/off switch in the settings controls everything and can be turned on/off on the fly.
This is mostly, for those who cant run the skin with there hardware for whatever reason related to directX errors, ilist ect.
This is pretty much almost done, just need to recheck all the screens and make sure they are doing what they are told when told to do so. After that i have to put up/down arrow buttons on all list so when ilist is turned off u can navigate the list easier.

Other tweaks and fixes etc will be included in the update. The options screen has also been revamped for easier expansion of settings. ETA is unknown at this point. Im super busy at work and find it harder and harder to work on the skin. But things will progress, just a bit slower than usual.

since the ilist issue is a high priority, as soon as its done there will be a point release, followed shortly after by a 3.5 release which will include new features like the wifi manager and others.

i know this has been gone over a couple times and you're not a big fan of it, but...........

Will there be a daytime skin release for void 3.X or is that a "dead" issue?

While the dark skin is very pleasing visually, it's just too dark for the daylight and sometimes is completely overpowered by the light. Window tint is not legal around here (wouldn't want it anyways) and there's no other way to lower the ambient light in the cabin. The overall black theme just suppresses too much of the backlight and the result is poor visability on a regular touchscreen LCD. Throw in the natural reflective qualities of the touchscreen overlay and things get worse still.

I know you don't like the "washed out" appearance of a light skin with black lettering, but it sure would be useful in the day where the black skin often become dim or useless due to ambiant light conditions.

It's the main feature I miss from 2.02.........

Also, since the Ratings plug-in is no longer supported, is it possible to turn the button in the Audio screen with the 5 on it, to up and down volume buttons like in 2.02? It's difficult to get the volume all the volume button on the bottom right.

I'm having trouble with this skin freezing roadrunner after hitting the audio button. I can use other functions but sometimes hitting the audio button freezes things. The music will still play but i cant do anything. I have to use ctrl alt del to end the task and start rr over. Any ideas?

So I finally received one of the final components to complete my CarPC, save for re-wiring my invertor to a battery in the trunk, my GPS. Surprisingly, it arrived three days later from an eBay auction. Got it hooked up, downloaded drivers, installed iGuidance 3, set it to Com 3, and 4500 Baud. Worked like charm in iGuidance! I couldn't believe how easy it was to install!

But since that was so easy, I tried to setup everything in Road Runner, and whenever I start RR with it set to COM3 as it should be, RR crashes as soon as it opens. If I remove the COM3 or set it to anything else, it works fine. What's the deal?

I'm going to try uninstalling RR and Void to see if this helps anything and I will report back...

Well, I uninstalled Void, and tried another skin I was experiementing with, and it works fine in Digital FX. Guess I'll try reinstalling Void...

Well, I have now discovered that RR crashes with any skin when COM3 is set in RR Config. But now when its set to anything but that, and I run "GPS" in either Digital FX or Void, it works and still reads the proper COM port. Now the remaining problem...I went through each upgrade for Void and everything was working peachy. I installed them one at a time, tested to see if Navi would open iGuidance, and each upgrade worked! Didn't work at first, but I figured out I had the wrong GPS Layout set for the final upgrade.

So now the only problem is setting the COM port so that I can show off my Mi/h in the main Void screen. Any ideas on this? I'm done for tonight.

are you using a port splitter like xport? if not, IG and RR might be trying to "fight" for the port and crashing.
