yeah, I think it's time for a new thread
I've lost all track of this thread, I'm still using a older version of the skin.

yea that'll do a whole lotta good. then people are going to re-ask the same questions answered in the last 30 pages of this thread. plus a lot of the solutions from void 2 may still be helpful in void 3

If someone great person has the time they can make up a FAQ using all the questions in this thread so LS and just post that in the new thread and it would solve the problem of the questions being asked over again.
Only problem is who is willing to do this?

i dont think you can even make a 'list' of issues or questions brought up in this thread because everyone has a different question for a different system. anyways no point in just filling the thread with posts like these so if LS wants a new one, he will.

There is an entry in the MP3Car Wiki for just that, if you have any info go edit that.

Hey LS I'm having a problem using the free buttons.
When I search for the .exe I want I can't find it. I've added .exe to the file types (.mp3,.wav,.exe) but when I go to the root of my C drive I can only see Documents & Settings and no other folders.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

any issues that come up that have to do with hibernation, standby etc and resuming are all RR issues. Not really anything i can do about those issues unless its something that doesn't happen in another skin.

It would be a cool little addition. Useful too, when the navigation feature is worked out...........
ill take a look at the link.
You do know there already is movie listings in the skin right?

would it be possible to get a GPS button that uses the external link in the main RR settings?
I use DEST7 and I'm sure many other use different ones also.
Untill now i have just edited your ExecTBL.ini but i think it would be easier for people if they could just change the setting in RRconfig?
would this be possible?
Thanks
the skin supports most of the GPS apps out the box except for mappoint. I dont like the gps menu pop up cuz it just forces an extra step for everyone. isnt mapmonkey and freedrive frontends for Destinator right? cuz both of those are supported. Click and hold the Navi button and choose ur gps app.
What i could prob do is use the external link , but set up some settings to save what your choice is so u dont have to click it each time.

ill take a quick look at my settings, but im pretty sure all you need to do is add the file types you want to view (under music settings) and they should show up.

free drive and mapmonkey use Destinator3 which does support many maps after ~2005, so alot of people have moved over to Destinator6 and now 7 (which doesn't imbed to nicley yet).
I usally just go into your excebl.ini and change the freedrive or mapmoney lines to my Destinator7 path, but this might not be easy to do for some people. so if there was also an ExternalGPS button in you option list, people could change it eisier?

Regarding the volume strip along the bottom left:
1. At 100% volume can it be made to cover all the way across to the right, rather than leaving that small gap uncoloured on the right (near the plus)?
2. I know that volume goes up/down depending on where u press/click in relation to the current volume level. I think thats a great feature, however, can we make it that if you click anywhere in the left 1-2cm (near the -) or anywhere in the right 1-2cm (near the +) it just does a up/down volume respectively? I can never get it down to the lower volumes easily because the current level is so near the corner of the LCD.
Thanks

i think you can get it to fill up the whole slider, its just hard to keep clicking in that corner to get it to get there. if you go into the mixer and increase the slider volume to 100 percent, i beleive then that bar will be fully filled. either way, i would assume that you wouldn't be driving with your volume at 100% most of the time. if you are u may want to turn up your wave volume some or increase the gains on your amp.
as for the volume going all the way down, i do agree it gets a bit difficult at the end, but the way he has it designed right now, it wouldnt make much sense to click in the last 2 cm after the volume is already down past that point and actually have it go down further. you'd be clicking in the gray area, but actually be goin down.

Hari, I know what ur saying.. but to me, Id rather sacrifice that 'logical' issue - clicking in grey area - in order to get it a little easier to control at the extremes. I personally dont really look at where the current level is.. I just press either near the + or -. I know LS went to the effort of checking where u press relative to the current state.. but that extra feature is in most cases lost on me while driving and attempting to control the volume.
I have set the volume to 100% via the main screen, but the bottom volume bar still doesnt fill all the way up.

ah, i see. So basically i just need to just add support for D7 specifically. Thats not a problem.

how about i remove the track slider on the right and extend the volume to take up the entire bottom?
prob wouldn't solve the problem though.
Why do u want to turn the volume down to 0% instead of mute?
Just a wild guess, but i assume you guys don't use your HU for volume?

No no.. keep the layout as it.. its good
I dont run a HU at all. 0% = mute, whereas 1% = a small amount of sound. Enough to be audible. Its that last 4% which has a big difference at night or any other time i need to be a little quiet without being mute. I know I could use ATT, but if my finger is already there, Id rather just press -. It also reacts faster than ATT. Also, I prefer to mute it via 0% than hold the play button down - thats just me though.
If its a hassle then not to worry. But I def would pref it if the last 1cm on either side was purely - or + only. Not current position dependant. Cheers mate.

just checked this thread out. Looks pretty cool.
Im not sure where the data comes from, our how accurate it is but it looks like it would be a nice replacement for the current movietimes in the skin.
