liquid_smoke I've know been using your skin for about a week in my car. I liked it before, but now I love it. I've got one request per say. I haven't read every post so may you have already started this but if not that would be awesome.

For navigation I use iGuidance 3. I love that extra "button" that allows me to easily zoom in/out, go FS etc. At times I want to view the "Route List" or "Record Track" Those two options are accessible via the top menu (I think they're both in File). If there is any way that you could somehow integrate that into the same toolbar that has the Fullscreen button that would be absolutely amazing.

I also have one question which I think is related to RoadRunner rather than the skin but I am not sure. It is impossible for me to browse through songs. If I even see the artist in there (most are weird characters which I read can be fixed manually but that would be a PAIN) when I click on the songs they are all the same. If I double click on any of them, they show up correctly in the actual play list (artist - title) I have been messing around with the RRConfig for quite a while trying to get the browsing to appear correctly to no avail. The play list's look perfect which is why I am so confused. I tried messing with the check boxes in RRConfig but that didn't change it. I want the browsing to show Artist first (which it currently does but not all of them) and then when I click on the artist show the songs in Artist - Track form. If anyone can offer an insight into this I'd appreciate it.

The playlist thing, is usually due to a difference between the filename and the MP3 tag, match these up (there are a few utilities out there to do this) and all should be OK.

Here is a little something for anyone who is familiar with building websites. Maybe someone can help me out a bit.

First ive updated the link on the first page so you can download the skin as before.

My domain where the original site is hosted for some reason the page dosnt work anymore. When it loads you will get a script error in IE, in Firefox it wont do anything.
Now my HOST just updated there sever and moved my site. This is when the problems kicked in. I though originally they must have corrupted some of the files. I couldnt check for about 2 weeks now cuz i couldnt log into the site. They fixed that issue tonite. So i log in and see all the files are fine. I copy them localy and everything works perfect.
Then i decided to copy them up to another domain that i have access to. And they also work fine there (this is where the site is currently located). But on the original domain the page wont work.
Same files, diff domain. What gives.

Is it possible that my host has disabled javascripts and ajax from running on the server? I just want to get everything straight before i go ***** them out.

What do you mean the files won't work? Like, you can see them but not access them, or you just get that script error you mentioned?

At any rate it sounds like a problem with the server, not your account specifically. Are you using servage? Call them up.

Ok, first of all are you using asp or php?

when they 'upgraded' have they possibly

a) moved from linux hosting to windows hosting or vice versa

or (if using php)

b) moved form version 4 to version 5 or vice versa (I had this issue, 5 is more tolerant on some script parts the 4, but 4 is more tolerant on others )

I use the System Manager plugin in this skin to update my music library which is just a large mp3 folder but I don't want to reload the library each time by going under Audio -> Library. If I do it that way, I go to the library, hit the UP or DOWN button to change folder and then go back to my music folder and it is updated. Is there a quicker way to just refresh the playlist so it pulls the new files that are loaded in the mp3 directory without manually going into the library browser? I've read about the RELOADLIST command in RR but wasn't sure.

yeah i just get that script error, which in turn kills the whole page from loading properly and no links show.

yeah, i think this most likely the issue.
So ill have to drop them a line and see whats up and see if i need to move to another host.

thanks.

short answer NO.

The music library and the current playlist are 2 separate items. The music library just looking inside of your music dir in some what real-time but wont do anything unless you tell it to. The playlist is just that, a playlist.
There is no stock way to automaticly add new items in your music lib to the current playlist.

There are some options that could possibly be automated in the future.
NEW HITS,(latest button in audio player) will scan your music lib and create a playlist containing only new tracks from the last X days/weeks.
This could be modified to append the results of the search to your current playlist instead of creating a new playlist.
I didnt create the new hits plugin so i would have to dig into the source and modify it.

Another option would be to have a script that ran when the computer started(or RR) that would scan your music dir and just add everything to a playlist and inturn have this playlist auto loaded into RR. A simpler method than above.

If i have time when im done with 3.0 ill whip something up.

LS,

A few weeks ago I posted issues with my install of the latest version of RR and subsequent non stop crashing.

Well after I wiped that install off, and re installed RR and this skin I got occasional crashes. (RR simply shuts down).

Here is the twist. If I have NAV running (IG) then (so far) it doesn't crash...

when not running the IG it would crash minutes after starting or restarting.

I am sure the updated RR install added something to the windows guts...but I cannot figure out what would have changed.

Anybody else out there seen this?

Im not sure what could be your issue, nothing in the skin would cause your computer to reboot. I dont think RR adds anything to any of your system folders either. I dont use the installer and normally im running beta versions of RR so all my updates are drag and drop.

Its very odd that running IG would stop your crashing. I cant think of anything related that would cause that.

Have you tried loading a different skin like BMV2?

Any odd info in debug.txt?

the current released version of the skin does not support google earth (out of the box). The soon to be released 3.0 version will support google earth.

If you are trying to add support for it to the current version manually, you will have to first install the RREarth plugin. There are instructions that come with the plugin on how to set it up.
Of course you can also save the trouble and just wait for the updated skin.
