LS,
I hate to bother you, but I am. I just wanted to know if you were able to incorporate the delete function into the new skin?

Installer option?
A while back you had asked about whether or not people would like to have an installer and I think the general consensus was yes. So today I had a thought about it which might help some folks out. I have my RR install in the C: and have never had problems because your defaults always work for me. I do recall that some people who installed elsewhere had to change some of the commands in the skin to match their actual locations. So I was wondering if it would be possible to have the installer ask questions about where certain things are and then rewrite the code appropriately. Just a thought.

actually the only thing in the skin that was path dependent was the ratings plugin, which was pretty much out of my control. In the thread for the plugin there are various updates that fixed the path issue.
The skin will still be an installer cuz its so much easier to just click,click,click, finish than to open folders and copy and paste. But there will also be a copy & Paste version availabe for those that may have had trouble with the installer in the past.
Im prob not going to use the installer i used before, but yet write my own, which should be bullet proof and very car friendly.

lsx void spectrum analyzer blank
I have two problems with the skin. the second is more major.
1.
i have searched for spectrum analyzer problems and come up with nothing that matches my problem - there is nothing there but white space. Right clicking reveals that flash is running - the right click menu has "movie not loaded... | about flash 7".
I have tried winamp 5.13 and 5.31.
Am I missing something? I can't find much info about your spectrum analyzer at all. Is it a winamp plugin I am missing?
Fixed - Updated to Flash 9 (I use mozilla, and keep it up to date, I had to fire up iexplore and update the flash player in that). But there is no longer a white space, but theres no spectrum analyzer either.
2.
Also, after changing versions etc, the play directory function is playing up (it worked before). it sometimes moves to the next folder, sometimes just restarts the current directory. When double clicked quickly i can sort of provoke it in to going to the next directory.
I uninstalled RR, cleaned its folder, and uninstalled winamp also. Then reinstalled winamp 5.13, and then RR 4-11-07. That didnt solve the problem and neither did changing to 5.31.
I will try going back to the january version i was using before.

Has anyone else received a 'Trojan Horse Virus Threat' (Generic3.ZIT) from '\Program Files\Road Runner\LSTOOLS\SCRIPTS\IENW.exe'?

updating my flash fixed the white space, but there is no spectrum analyzer showing at all.
i have tried winamp 5.13 and 5.31.
Anyone have any ideas?
Is there a flash file for the spectrum analyzer in the skin directory, because i haven't seen one thats obvious..
Also, does this work with the latest versions of everything can someone confirm with version numbers?
The directory player doesn't work with winamp 2.95,3.13,3.31. I can see the script run in my system tray (very briefly), sometimes it pops up twice with a single click -- when it does this it works. Other times it appears just once, and the same directory is restarted.

white space? Are you talking about the compass heading that's displayed in the middle of the screen? (you need a gps sensor for it to work)
Spectrum analyzer?
Are you refering to the visualizations in the upper RH corner that looks like a "graphic equalizer"?
They're just winamp visuals. The "button" only starts them and embeds it. Search the thread for visualizations and screensaver.ini to get them working if this is what you are looking for.
LSX 2.02 is meant to run with winamp 5.13 not higher versions. 2.95 should work fine also. Both work fine on my install.............
Cheers

Adding a visualization bumps up the CPU load quite a bit, no?

OK, after search turned up very little I trawled this thred.
I now have: RR 11 4 07, winamp 5.13, and the spectrum AVS vis.
I have done:
RRconfig -> start up command "VISU"
Set Winamp to use Classic skin.
RR.ini -> added AvsTransparent=true, changed visuname=AVS (was milkdrop).
Created Screensaver.ini -> contents:
AvsTransparent=True
FadeOnIdle=False
SecondsToFade=1
FadeInterval=1
DefaultOpacity=70
MaxOpacity=70
or
AvsTransparent=True
FadeOnIdle=False
SecondsToFade=300
FadeInterval=10
DefaultOpacity=70
MaxOpacity=255
The vis repositions itself correctly, but often it opens avseditor on top of itself, i've closed avs editor and restarted winamp and rr in all different orders but it still occurs.
Also transparency and click through don't work at all, and the border on the visualization screen is present. EDIT: in rr.ini -> visuname=!Winamp Gen!AVS
Straight away it embeded and is transparent. Perfect. Worked it out myself. Hope this helps someone.
I still have the problem with the dirplayer and dirplayer_neg scripts not working well.
hehe, Other than that the skin is sweet.
I read about the changes you are going to make to the playlist skin - this sounds promising. Its a little awkward creating/dealing with playlists, but maybe i'm just not used to it yet.

you can safely delete this file, its not being used by anything. Was a just a small test i was doing a long time ago on getting IE to embed in RR without the file menu etc. The file is safe and does not have a virus. It gets picked up by scanners cuz its a vb file that may possibly be a threat but it really doesn't know. If you turn heuristics scanning off in your virus app it wont detect it anymore.

carputer just died the other day. 100,000 + miles in use every day. So im not super upset. It has survived the harsh chicago winter and blazing hot summers for over 5 years with pretty much zero issues. Not fully sure on the cause of death yet but in the process of trying to bring it back to life, the cpu went up in smoke and took the motherboard with it.
So it'll be a small set back, not for the skin, but for me personally. It'll be at least 2 months before im back up and running. So ill have to start doing some research on a good replacement. The system had a 2.6Ghz intel chip, so unfortunately i dont think ill be happy with anything thats slower.
I am interested if anyone here is using a umpc as a carputer or if they even have a umpc (looking at a samsung Q1) and how does it run RR.
Also, if anyone has tried the mini-itx board from Intel that has a much better proc than the via flavors?
lastly, if anyone has any links to computers that they think are good carputers just post them here, it'll help out a great deal as im already pretty damn short on time.
As for the skin, it will continue as usual with only time being taken from it to find a new carputer.

what problems do u have with the dirplayer?
It works perfect for me, on multiple systems, but some have had issues with them in the past. Id like to get to the bottom of it, if possible, but a tad hard since i cant repro any issues with them.

Hi,
Is there any way to display the CPU temp at the top near the compass arrow?
What it is, my car PC overheats a lot being in the glove box, so I would like to keep a close eye on it.
Thanks.
