Here We Go...

Sonique Evolution Pre-Release

Pretty simple install (i hope!). Copy the contents of "to Road Runner Folder" to your road runner directory. Make sure to backup any folders before you overwrite them! Then copy the skin folder to rr's skin directory like any other skin. Here's some notes off the top of my head

-NetPlay on Audio player is not yet function per authors request
-Games skin is nowhere near done
-if any main button is pressed but you dont get the screen you want.. chances are that screen isnt done.
-skin may be sluggish for those using less than 1.3ghz. I've done no optimizing. expect a 20% faster final release.
-The menu functions the same as i previously said it would.. the final version will give you the option to switch between both methods listed in the poll.

Please lemme know of any issues you see.
-

EDIT: and just like that prob # 1. The rar file contains a rrlogo.png thats way too big to be displayed correctly. I'm in the mist of uploading the correct png file now. So if you've downloaded already and there's a problem re-download in 30 minutes.

prob fixed.. good to go!

netplay (or jukebox) is a script johnWPB created that allows any carpc with internet access to search for.. play... and download music right from the internet. You type in your search criteria and the search results come up in a custom list inside rr. VERY nice little function if you've got the internet in the car. I'm using the script with john's permission but will not make the function available until its first available in his digitalFX skin.

Sonic, so far it looks awesome (I'm on my desktop at work so I won't be able to test in the car until later).

Bear with me here, I haven't used RR in over a year.... I can't get it to display in full screen. I chose my screen's resolution in RRConfig.exe, but still only displays in the upper left corner of the screen.

inside the skin folder there is general.ini. Open that file and change the ShowHeight and ShowWidth to match your resolution.

Ok, I thought the RRConfig did that automatically. Oh well, no worries, I can handle that.

Ok, when I attempt to enter the CoverFlow module, I get an error message that says "There was an error loading that data, sorry."

My music folders are visible though in the normal Browse module...

Ok here's another stupid question, sorry... I know the "purple" section in your above diagram is to minimize. But how do I simply exit RR??

hold down the menu button on the main screen for 2 seconds.. the exit options will then display. Press the EXIT button to simply close rr.

You need to setup the coverflow utility by going into the coverflow folder, opening builder.ini and entering the path to your music. Coverflow does not at this point read your music path from road runner. Also be sure to put the name of your image files as they are in your music directory. From there.. run either builder-artist.exe or builder-genre.exe to have coverflow read your music library into the .xmls needed for coverflow to work.

Hmm, there's still a problem. Everything looked like it was going fine. When executing builder-artist.exe, it gave me the message that it was building the XML file, and I saw it scanning through my folders. But then I got this error:

Then when I tried to enter coverflow in RR, I got the same error as before.

Thats a bug in the coverflow program itself. I did not create it. Support for that plugin can be found here.

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-p...11-8-07-a.html

i can tell you though that problem may stem from not having the .dll file in the coverflow folder registered.. run the register.bat and try again.

Did you open the builder.ini file and put in your music path first?

One question for Sonic (btw, awsome skin). If I want to change one of the menu links (lets say Radio) and have it open an external app (Hondata, for my ECU monitoring), how would I go about it? Do I have to setup a .skin and .swf file for it? I did it in my current skin (simplistique) and was able to copy the 'solitare' .skin file and use that one for my Hondata app. I notice it is all in flash, which I can't edit, so is there an easy way to do it? Or just a blank skin that calls an app?
