Sonic, I read earlier in this thread that you based this around IGuidance 4. I have iGuidance 3. Will it work?

One question for Sonic (btw, awsome skin). If I want to change one of the menu links (lets say Radio) and have it open an external app (Hondata, for my ECU monitoring), how would I go about it? Do I have to setup a .skin and .swf file for it? I did it in my current skin (simplistique) and was able to copy the 'solitare' .skin file and use that one for my Hondata app. I notice it is all in flash, which I can't edit, so is there an easy way to do it? Or just a blank skin that calls an app?
first what you wanna do is make a copy of base.skin in the skin folder. Rename it to hondata.skin or whatever u want it to be. From there u wanna edit the skin.ini file changing one of the mainbut#'s to load your hondata skin with your hondata app. So it would go something like this...
Code:
&mainbut5=Hondata@LOAD;hondata.SKIN;Hondata;C:\Program Files\Hondata\Hondata.exe;Hondata&
this will embed your application (assume that file path and window title above are correct) into the hondata.skin. Please note though Hondata does not currently have an icon built into the main skin so you wont see an icon but its button. This will change on the final release

You need to manually register the dll mentioned in the Coverflow instructions. Did you register the Dll manually? This is discussed in the last couple of pages of the Coverflow thread.

Ok, registered the dll and the scan of my music folder finished without issue. Unfortunately, I still get nothing in the coverflow module (same message as mentioned above about unable to load the data).
I'll hit up the Coverflow thread and see what I can find.

Yeah Sonic, I meant to mention to you that I can't get any album art to show up in your skin (aside from the coverflow issue). I have all my album art both embedded in the tags, and as folder.jpg in all album folders.

Sonic, I'm able to do this with no problem with a regular mouse on my desktop pc, but in my car, holding down the Menu button with my finger on the touchscreen will not bring up the exit menu. It will only switch between the different menus.
My touchscreen is set to right-click when holding down... I'm guessing this is the problem?

i dont know that there's a way to have embedded album art display in flash.. Have you tried any other flash skins?

check above about the embedded issue. But if you have folder.jpg in the same folder as your music tracks are it SHOULD display. Maybe the embedded art plugin is causing some sort of conflict with flashes method of reading the art. I'll have to read up on that plugin because i've never used it.

yes this is the problem. I disabled auto-right click on my setup because it was more hurtful than helpful on most skins. What you can do is just assign one of the main buttons to the exit command. Open skin.ini and...
Code:
&mainbut20=Exit@EXIT&

Thanks Sonic. For the albumart thing, what plugin are you saying you need to read up on? The embedded album art one? Because I don't have that installed... I'm only using your skin. I was just saying that I do have art embedded in my files, but if your skin doesn't look at that, it shouldn't matter. I definitely have folder.jpg in all my album folders. Some are hidden, mind you, but surely your skin can read them anyway?
For the Exit button, that's perfect. Thanks.

I was talkin about the embedded art plugin. If you dont have that installed i dunno what the problem could be. The main album art just reads the file path from the ALBUMART label rr provides. You dont see album art in the top left corner on the main skin OR behind the playlist in the audio skin? Do you see pictures on the PICS skin?

Embedded album art can be displayed in a flash skin by adding "J,0,0,0,0" (without quotes) to the .skin that can display the album art. Of-course, Guino's MP3art plug-in needs to be installed. I works with iPhone and FU; haven't tried in this skin but it should work.

Very helpful information. I'm gonna leave that line out by default because it slows down flash quite a bit but for those using that plugin its very helpful. Thanks

Thanks Treetop.
Sonic - which .skin file in your skin should I add this line to? audio_browser.skin?
