CFX TX Release

Alright guys/gals.
As promised, this is my 4000th post .
- The included RoadRunner.exe is a BETA release base on RR Nov 2, 2007 code released. It has everything from Official RR release in that code base plus more.
- ONDIRCLICK event. I added this for the skin/background picker.
- CDC play mode: CD changer for music directory playing access with this button >>| for next and |<< for previous.
- Ability to change to Next/Prev Video without going to video player. >>| for Next movie and |<< for Previous movie.
- Some bug fixed that I posted in the forum as well (GPS close on skin change.)
- Well, you guys find out. I hope it not break anything you guys currently use.
What if you don't want to use this version of RR?
- You may not be able to use the above features. The CDC feature may already be in your existing RR if you use the latest
version from guino website but not on the forum as I send the code to guino a while ago.
***** Back up your current RoadRunner.exe file.******
don't come cry on me if you have to go back to your existing version.

INSTALLATION.
- The included file layout/structure is what I intended for this skin. You see FlashLogos, SkinIcon, and BackGround folder?
Those are the subfolder of your main RR installation (C:\Program Files\Road Runner). Just copy them to your RR main folder.
- Open the Skins folder and copy CFX TX folder (skin) to your existing skins folder.
- Make sure you enable transparency support in RR. If not, you are going to see just a grey skin.

CUSTOMIZE
- All function icons (MP3, VIDEO, HD Radio) and text can be changed. I make it flexible so that you only use what you have/need.
The icons are in the SkinIcon folder.
- The loader background file is located inside FlashLogos folder name background.jpg. Change it to whatever you want.
- Most/all of the flash files use in the skin are in FlashLogos folder.
- I only include what I use, but you guys can add more with the include psd file. If you add/change, please post to the forum so other can enjoy what you create.
- This skin is create to use with iGuidance GPS. If you use other GPS program, you have to create a skin for your self.

Thanks Playerbeat, LS and whoever give LS space for hosting the file.

Fighting with the background - anybody get it to work (except Matrix of course)?

I don't intend to switch RR since the Nov version didn't show video coverart properly.

Is there any other way to make the background work?

By what i could see, it looks like a fantastic skin.

What background you referring to?
Loader background?
Or the background picker like the one below?
[media]http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/attachments/rr-skins/47863d1202327572-cfx-tx-transparency-revolution-cfx-tx-bg-chooser.jpg[/media]
If the one above (background image isn't change when you use the up/down arrow), try to register GDI Plus thinggy.

I'm in love... I still use CFX every day and i've made some of my own modification to it for my own personal use.

Yes, it's the skin background (as in the screen cap), i don't even get the list of BG's (located in RR folder)

I'll go see about registering the GDI+

Thanks for your response.

If you used other skins supporting transparency and had no problems, then its highly doubtful that is what the problem is...

Indeed, that wasn't the problem.

Any body else get the background to work? Not even editing skin.ini made it work for me.

what is your skin.ini look like?
Is it something like this?
Code:
BGPath=C:\Program Files\Road Runner\BackGround\ background=C:\Program Files\Road Runner\BackGround\Blue Os.jpg

Note that some of you have Road Runner installation in RoadRunner directory instead of Road Runner. There is space between Road and Runner while other don't.
Your problem is more likely that RR can't read the Background directory (BGPath) that is why the list isn't show up.

Now it works..

Tweaked skin.ini a little and added the BGPath (yet another background path) to rr.ini and she fired right-up.

Thanks for sharing.

I don't think you need BGPath in RR.ini Just make sure it's correctly point to in skin.ini is good for it to work.
Well, whatever float your boat right?
glad it work for you.

Great skin Matrix, Was able to get it up and running in seconds flat.

Heres what I entered in skin.ini to get her going on first run

Code:
BGPath=C:\backgrounds background=C:\backgrounds\snow.jpg

Since I use all non standard paths I also modified the .skin files so that the FlashLogo and SkinIcon folders are read from the CFX TX directory no matter where it goes. Basically, I just used the notepad 'replace' tool to remove all instances of ..\..\ in the skin files. Now the skin reads from the logo/icon folders from within its own directory. Made a couple other tweaks here and there, but just wanted to again commend you on the great rework of one of the best ever skins for RR.

Just so everyone knows, there are a TON of hidden buttons in this skin, most of them click and hold for alternate function so take a look at the .skin files to really unleash this skins power.

Here is a screener of the skin with me in the background boarding at Vail

Hmmmmmmm without the clock logo, it look really nice
(if the picture is center).

Yes, many buttons use click and hold command so take a look at the skin file to see.
The skin file is very well oganize into section. Take a look and you know what I mean.
Also if you don't want to use relative path the way I use, do just like blk02si did. Open notepad and do a replace of those relative path to the actual path.
