I am still using labels to allow translation, and this could be adapted to use skinbedder or even destinator very easily.
Here is the main menu mode. Clcking on Address or other navigation options takes you to full screen mode simply because otherwise the OSK is too small to use on a 7" display.
Looks good - any way we're going to be able to have split screen gps/music?
That would be killer...
I'm still waiting for Phoco before I start using this, but it's turning out to be one killer skin.

I may make 2 versions of the music screen, 1 with cover embedded and 1 with map in this area...

VErsion you send me is looking good, except SKINbedder sticks out
Get rid of the second columb of buttons, and let SKINbedder take care of them.

Hey ol33l.... the sticking out is meant to be there
It allows the zoombar from FD to be present in full-mode but not present in menu mode
I'm afraid since I dont use iGuidance os Skinbedder due to no map support in my area I will only optimize this for FD, but I'm sure once it is released as a full skin some users will alter it

Observations : (disclaimer haven't tried this on my car PC but I think this may still apply)
It looks good.
however play,FF,RW seem a bit small and fiddly for a touchscreen.
may add to list as I play more.

ol33l, just move the embed area to the left to cover some buttons, and delete the others from the image, not difficult at all if you think of it...
Once it is all done I'll get you some images with only 1 row of buttons
(If your application is on top of buttons the buttons wont show)

I have no problem with your parallel development as long as its only an alternativly gps screen and not a complete skin clone espetially befor I published my final skin Keep on developing ur own gps screen... but I think it wold look much better if youd put the second line of buttons to the right side like on my audio_browser skin... just my estetic feeling...
I have no problem with the size of the Prev/Play/Pause buttons... works fine for me...but thats how i made all the buttons on the left labels, so that everyone may translate it to his language, or chane buttons he needs or does not need...
btw after if finished the final release of this skin I'll translate it to german for me ... if theres any interest here i might publish the german version as well...
but I should stop writing and get back to work on this skin, because theres still a lot to do....

Hey btbe!
Thanks! I'll continue on my GPS part
I chose to do it this way so that the buttons are in easier reach for the driver... I had a bit of difficulty going to the other side of the screen while driving (I start to swerve a bit to the right )
I may change it in the final version though, to look like the audio browser.
One thing, I tried running it in 800x480 (Xenarc) and it doesnt look very good using the RR resizing. What screen are you using? If you run a 7" touchscreen I think you should think about altering the size of stuff very soon
Maybe if you can publish the PSDs later on I can make a 800x480 version which will "cut" from the background, instead of squashing it through a resize.
Also, when you finalize the main menu PSD please post it so we can start customizing with our brands
Great Work!

Probably a stupid question but, will there be a 16:9 version for us running the normal Xenarcs/Lilliputs? Didn't think to ask this until you said you're using a 4:3...
Thanks,
Dan

You can always resize the skin to your screens resolution by editing the general.ini file of the skin. Recently the resizing/drawing functions in RR have been updated to where this is done with higher quality and faster than it used to be, so chances are you'd get just as good of a result.
