This is as far as I got, but couldn't get any further untli I got some opinions...so what do you think?

The final version will have menus in different colors.

EDIT: Version 1 gone. Updated to version 2.

No. I started this from scratch.
BTBE's skin is really nice, but I wanted it to be a bit more similar to the original...

and it's hard to keep it that way with 800x600...

Awesome skin! I e-mailed you a few questions. Wondering if you planned on making a red version with an Audi logo- would be perfect in my Audi! Also wondering how easy it would be to remove a few of those menu items- TV, etc? Never made/modified a skin with Roadrunner.

The final version will have different screens in different colours. This one is based on green, but I'll make one with the main menu and playlist in red.
Once I'm done, I'll release the .psd, so that anyone could modify it to his liking.

I don't know what exactly, but something just doesn't look right...I'll play with it a little and try to figure it out...

Oh no...I was afraid you'd say that...

What's wrong with my version is that it's not proportional to the original one. That one is wider and not that high... BTBE really found a nice way around this, by keeping most of the original proportions, and adding a control bar at the buttom to fill the screen up.
The only thing wrong with BTBE's skin, and whis this type of skin, is that it doesn't look good on a touch screen. It just has too much black in it, that all the fingerprints on the TS are REALLY visible...So, I don't think I'm going to finish this, as it's not really worth it...that iDrive skin kicks *** anyway...

this sort of screen would look good with a bit of flash for the lines and things.

another thing that might look good is to replace the black with a moving image, like a vis.
