Thanks for your help and oh yes you have a PM.
yes, you shouldnt point the path directly to the iGuidance.exe if you intend to use skinbedder. So the path to gps should be under the SB2.9 dir.
im not controling the day/night mode of IG, there are 3 modes; Auto, Day, Night.
I just set it to NIGHT and use the White color scheme, then my map stays black all the time. I find this to be more visualy pleasing to the eye with this skin, and also seems to be easier to see whats going on during the day too.
I changed a lot of the colors etc with the theme.ini file for iG to make my roads different colors, widths, font sizes etc. In the GPS forum there are extensive posts on the theme.ini file and how to make changes etc. Anyone using iG def needs to check it out.

this is correct, if you want to use the supplied iGuidance.exe file back up your orginal and replace it with the supplied one.
Whats differnt with the one i have. I changed all the images on all the buttons used inside iG to match the skin. Well to match my previous skin, i havnt updated it to go with void, but its still better than the original color them.
I also removed the menu button and the zoom buttons so the map is clear. The buttons are still physically there, the images are just 100%transparent. So if you click on the map where the zoom buttons would be, you'll see they still work.

Ok, this is all a big help. I'm sure it would further help me love this wonderful skin. I'll make those changes tonight and see how it goes. I'm currently using a patched version of IG from IGMod. Thanks everyone. LS stay tuned for comments.

You are correct liquid_smoke, I missed the COM port sharing section in the beginning of the thread. Makes sense to me, i never even knew that RR could access the GPS port without an external app! Now i finally know how to get the speed/heading in the skins to work! I did some research on XPORT and im going to give it a try, i need to find the newest version. Thank you for explaining the whole sceniro to me!!
Also, Im not having any issues with the GPS full screen, everything is working great now on the carPC except for the speed slider which is due to the fact I dont have RR configured right. I hope to have this working later tonight and try to get some pix of your skin in action (while im doing 60mph)
PS im not really having any problems with the first LSTOOLS, should i upgrade when you release the new version?
Lastly, ive noticed that other skins still work just fine with your modified .ini's in case anyome was worried about that.
Great product, check your paypal, I just made a $5 donation to your beer fund man. I guess this would be the time to ask if your going to release a green version.. we should probably get all the bugs worked out first though.

thanks for the donation, greatly appreciated!!!
you should grab the latest version of LSTOOLS and let me know if you have ANY issues with going to fullscreen in GPS, restore the original KeyTBL.ini file from the RR release and check if you have any issues again.

optimal settings for the gps menu button:
Did some tweaking of the position of the button while in the car, these settings will postion the button and flyout menu to the best place.
note the original settings are for 800x480 resolutions, these settings below are for 800x600
open coords.ini
C:\Program Files\Road Runner\LSTOOLS\SB2.9\iGuidance\coords.ini
First four lines should look like this
15
385
0
245
only change this for your setup INSIDE the car, for desktop testing the original numbers are best.

I have the original LSTOOLS. The only thing that didn't work was the exit fullscreen button but I knew it was because I didn't modify KeyTBL.ini. Your new version of EXIT_FS.au3 should work fine.
BTW, if you're afraid the RegRead trick doesn't wor, you can just copy exec.exe right into LSTOOLS\SCRIPTS. It'll work as a standalone. All it does it sendmessage to Road Runner.

Whoooo Hoooooooo, LS I got everthing working. I updated RR (Damn you said it in bold that you must have the latest!!!) I actually thought I did but didn't. After updating RR and LSTOOLS things starting looking good. The full screen is working and I really love what you did with IG.
Thanks Man. Now I think you and b8bboi need to work together to incorporate his new tool for IG. It's exactly what everyone needs; hopefully you two can figure something out.
This SKIN IS AWESOME

Well everything is still good on the carPC but i was testing the new LSTOOLS and everything works ok except I got an error message when trying to exit fullscreen. I am posting the attachment so you can see whats going on. Seems it cant find a file or something? I double checked all my paths and everything seems ok. Just wondering how come you decided to use scripts to close fullscreen menus? The other skins I use with fullscreen GPS functions it seems to be hard coded into the skin. It's probably because ive done so much configuring and testing on this laptop that things have gotten corrupted. I may try a clean install of everything. Havent had time to try out the Xport yet (wife was horny, hint hint) but hopefully i'll be tackling that one tomorrow.

blk, I see that you have a non-standard installation location for RR. Did you use the Install Shield or did you install RR manually?
Also, what version of RR do you use?
This might fix it but it's just temporary until liquid_smokes comes out with a new release. Create a folder like this.
C:\Program Files\Road Runner\
Then in E:\Road Runner\ you should see a file called exec.exe. Copy it over to C:\Program Files\Road Runner\.

b8bboi, it worked! I thought it may be someting with the paths. On the car pc i have the standard instal path which probably explains why everything works nice

yes, everything is done with the assumtion that rr is installed in the standard path. Ive actually worked around any of those issues and this new file exec.exe that is in the root of RR kind of breaks it when i point to it. Im not sure if that file HAS to be located in the root of RR,(its existance is new to me) if not ill prob make a copy of it inside LSTOOS which my skin can find no matter what dir RR is installed in.

i dont think any of the other skins have "true" fullscreen gps where the map covers 100% of the screen. They usually have a area that is still apart of RR with a standard RR button. The fullscreen gps screen has NO rr buttons or controls at all, thus i had to create my own button that sits ontop of the map.
