OK, that works. However it now shows the _ in the filename whereas before it replaced the _ with a space LOL Also the capitalization needs to be addresses at some point.
Another quick question - the MasterMute feature works by muting but there is no indication in the skin that it is muted. I remember the old frodoplayer that changed the icon when muted - is this possible in this skin?

Ok, as for the underscores, I can't help you there... I have manually removed ALL underscores from all my music videos ect. I HATE file names with underscores in them
As for the mute problem, as we discussed on MSN, somehow that is an issue on your machine, and I don't know what could be causing it. If this was a problem with the skin, I am sure there would be flood of posts about it

A couple of observations on the latest version:
1. The genre doesn't show up in the player screen even though my songs are properly tagged.
2. Something funny is going on with the browser load. The current playlist appears while the browser is loading and then, in my case, the browser doesn't properly embed until I futz around with the buttons a bit.
3. Getting back to music from XM seems awkward. Ideally, when going to music from XM one would hit the menu button, then the music button and the loaded music playlist would immediately begin playing in the music player screen. Instead, when we hit the menu button and the music button the XM player screen comes up. It's then necessary to hit playlist again for the music playlist to begin playing. I like the idea of having the player skin for XM, especially because it gives those using the line-in plugin the ability to use visualizations with XM; however, it seems that a better approach would be to place a button on the XM skin that brings up the XM player skin. Then there would be no reason to have the XM player skin come up when going back to music from XM. Going from XM to music would require only two button presses - menu then music - which would immediately begin playing the loaded music playlist in the music player screen. As a non-coder I have no idea how much additional complication that creates, but I thought it worth mentioning.

John, I'm also wondering whether you've given any thought to the question I posed earlier about whether it would be possible to keep embedded applications open and scroll through them rather than opening and closing them one at a time.

1. I am not sure whats happening, but the genre's show up correctly here. I just tested it with like 100 songs, and all are showing correctly.
2. I have also never see this happen before either. In fact a lot of the stuff that is happening on your system, (Weather maps now showing up, iG Auto Switch not working ect) I have never seen before
3. Ok, I read, re-read, and re-read that over and over, and am as confused as when I first read it hehehehe. What really threw me off is " it seems that a better approach would be to place a button on the XM skin that brings up the XM player skin". There is only one XM skin.... So when you are in the XM screen, you want to go to the XM screen? Sorry, I am just not following you here.
I did make one alteration however. When in XM and go back to the main menu, and press music, the browser screen came up, and XM would continue playing. For RR to know to stop the XM, the Player screen needs to be loaded. I noticed this in the car the other day. I changed the button on the main menu screen, to now access the player screen.

Leaving applications running.

I thought about that, but most people do not want to leave all the applications running on their systems in the background. Many CarPC's are limited on horsepower and memory, and it would just make it even slower.

John,
Is there no way to make it an option to keep apps running vs killing them when you switch from screen to screen?

change the command of your close button from "CLOSE" to "BACK" or "EXIT"

Okay, I'll try to figure out what's going on with that. It's helpful to know that it's working for you.

Again, it's helpful to know others aren't experiencing this so I can focus on my system. FYI Weather maps are now working after a reinstall. Auto switch still doesn't work though. I think I'll just delete everything on all machines and start over.

LOL. Believe it or not I actually spent some time composing that in order to try to make it as clear as possible. Once I finished I realized that it might still be confusing. As you said, when hitting Main Menu and then Music XM would continue playing and the XM channel would show in the viz box. Anyway, it sounds like you fixed it.

Thanks, Sonic. I tried "Exit," which leaves the program open, but there is then no way to open or switch to other programs. B8bboi included an "apps" button in the CFX skin which allows you to scroll through open programs. I'll take a look at the CFX code and see if I can figure out a way to make it work. My system is pretty powerful so there's no problem leaving a few things open.

Hehehe well by accident, I think what you were referring to has been fixed I should be releasing a new version of the skin in a few days or so, with the fixes and stuff in the past couple pages of posts.

Oh yea new version is very nice. I come to think of it i have the genre issue on a few of my songs. i think its cuz they are *.m4a as the toggle names doesnt work with those either... so maybe thats your issue..

Mine are all MP3.
On a hunch I went into RRConfig and changed the setting from "ID3v1" to "Mix v1 and v2" and now genre is showing up. So the answer is that the genre will not show if only ID3v1 is selected in RRConfig.
