So why does everyone on the TV call it 'Turkey Day'?

Whatever, I hope everyone had a good one and is now looking forward to 'Black Friday' LOL
Thanks for looking at that trafficdetails - that will complete my install if we can get a skin for it!

PSD files and templates

Sorry, I started to reply to the above message, and got called to the other room, I responded and didnt look and see there were other responses and a new question
THe PSD on the download site does just contain the main 2 menu's. The skin is so large, and with so many screens it just is not feasible to post everything. The PSD's total almost 200 Megs!
That is one of the reasons I put that template file together. Say you want to change a single button on the XM skin, you can load the hpg into Photoshop, and find the button match in the template file and overlay it ect. Actually that template file should contain just about any button, icon, background ect that would be needed by just dragging and dropping the files into a new screen to complete a custom skin.
If there is something else more in depth you are wanting to do, drop me an email (address is in the help file) and I will see what I can do about emailing the PSD that you need.

John,
A couple of things:
1. Did you figure out why altitude and speed are showing up under the clock on my menus? Is anybody else reporting this? I know you intended to remove them because you thought their presence made the screen too cluttered, but I like having that information available and it doesn't make things look too cluttered IMHO. Note the following:
Menu 1: Compass works, altitude doesn't work, speed doesn't work. Menu 2: Compass doesn't work, altitude doesn't work, speed works. 2. I downloaded and installed VBRuntime and IG switching still doesn't work. No big deal - I'll keep playing with it.
3. The online indicator seems not to be working any longer.
4. Below are some screenshots of the playlist/browser issue I've mentioned a couple of times. When I load the browser the current playlist appears with the browser controls at the top of the screen. If I switch to another screen and go back to the browser the browser then usually appears. The playlist also appears sometimes when loading webpages. It happens with both IE and FF. Note also that even when the browser window appears it does not seem to be embedded properly. It appears to me that the playlist and browser are fighting for focus. Is anybody else reporting this? (Note: In the second image, I intentionally reduced the browser window size once it was open to show that the playlist remains in the background with the browser open.)

web Browser issues
Ok, there WAS an issue with the browser page! Somehow there was a file list in the background of the application window. I honestly do not know how this happened!
It will be fixed in the next release, or you can open the wbrowser.skin in notepad, and replace all the text with the following text. Sorry for the mix up!
Also the Online Indicator will be fixed in the next release as well, as I overlooked itwhen I created the new menu's.
Here is the code for the wbrowser.skin:
Code:

I use Firebox and use Johns new code for wbrowser.skin but when Firefox opens it includes the complete 'window' blue frame - if I click on a top button it overwrites that area of the window frame with the button image but how do I get Firefox to open up cleanly inside the allocated window?
Is there also a way of removing the top menu in Firefox? I guess that's not a skin issue.

@john
what's the advantage of this over the second line I have listed? I'm using the second line?

In RR config, you need to make sure you set the browser to FIrefox, and not the default Internet Explorer.

Thanks! I have done my best to make it as complete as possible, and to try and make everything work as easily as possible.

The last 3 sets of numbers, 000,000,000 in this case, define the application Background color. It's is not necessary, but does not hurt anything either.

John,
As instructed by you, I took out the swf lines from menu skin files and everything seems to be working fine now but in the middle of menu page I get a big empty square . Is there a way I can put Honda logo in there (just logo without clock)?

CPU and Flash issues

When I asked you to do that, it was to test if it was a flash problem or not. Being you removed the .swf (The flash files) and it is now working OK, says that it is indeed a flash problem. This simply means that you need to work on updating the flash version on your CarPC.
Even with your (Slower machine as you called it) 1.2Ghz machine, it is not a matter of processing power, but a matter of the wrong flash version pegging the processor on your PC. A clock and a compass written in flash should in no way peg a 1.2 Ghz machine at 100% CPU usage. When I first installed RR, and tried to use the original spinning flash clock on my 3.2 Ghz desktop machine, it pegged my processor at 100%, thats FAR more than a small flash file should EVER demand!
As I mentioned, I have a much older laptop running at only 800Mhz with a 16k gfx card, and it can handle Road Runner and the Blue Devil skin with the flash clock (after fixing the flash version) and only use about 30% of its CPU. (I use that old laptop to test the skin and Road Runner to simulate a lower end PC to see how well it functions).

HMmmm try switching to the BMV2 skin as it comes with RR and see what happens with your settings the way they are now. Let me know if FF works ok with that, or if you are having the same problems. I say this, as I do not use the browser in the car, and really just added it for completeness of the skin.
I Got the PM BTW, and am just trying to organize things here.

Software Integration Request......
Great skin. Definately one of the most 'complete' skins I have seen. I have a software integration request: Software One. The software is located here.
In a nut shell, the software allows CarPC integration of the Valentine One radar detector. It is skinable and I have seen it integrated in another skin (iDrive by Enforcer).
Also, does your skin incorporate the ability to auto dim/switch to night skin based on sunrise/sunset data from GPS position? Ideally, I would like the monitor to be tapped into the vehical to automatically dim when the lights are turned on (I found a few threads on this topic but since they involved hacking into the circuit board of the monitor I backed away), but I don't think that is feasible for me now.
I searched your thread in particular but didn't find a difinitive answer on the auto dimming aspect.
