top bezel is two sets combined
the next 4 buttons are curve button
the last row is inset
There's a plugin for Adobe photoshop called EyeCandy 4000 ,this plugin takes a lot of the hardwork out of it.

BTW, are you abandoning Blue?!?! I hope not for how can one give up what one started "BLUE DEVIL SKIN"
John, I think you misunderstood the question. Not are you abandoning the skin but the original color of the skin. He is saying that it is ironic that none of your images had a blue background.
Also your new skin will be totally up to the user as to what color to implement right?

Thanks wfs1
The effect of the plugin isn't as effective as the example done by the other poster is it? I've sent him a message asking how he did it so hopefully he will enlighten as so we can apply it to johns skin.

mine might have been more dramatic because i basically took a picture of a chrome object and placed it behind the button.
I really like what wfs1 Did. Awesome work

Thanks Lucky, that is exactly what i meant.
The power of the internet, email, and forums is wonderful. But every now and then the message can interpreted out of context, as in this case.
PS: how would this sound:
Red Devil Skin
Orange Devil Skin
Purple Devil Skin
Black Devil Skin
uhm, maybe not?

More concept idea's
Ok, I guess I did understand the question Sorry about that!
Ok, I have been tweaking and tinkering here, and like the idea of the chrome bezel around the buttons. It also solved the issue that was apparent with a really dark background, the buttons blended right in. The new border around the buttons and bars ect, prevents that from happening.
I plan of doing the skin a inst a few basic colors. Anyone with Photoshop or Gimp will be able to change the colors, and hopefully will share their work.
On another note, the skin can then be mixed and matched, for instance you could use the blue images for the main menu, and say, green for the 2nd menu, red for audio screens ect ect.... With Road Runners Fade and wipe features, it would transition very nicely from one color to the next.
Give me some opinions here, as I want to really get this right, before I start working on the 180 images that make up this skin!
Just to let everyone know I am NOT abandoning blue, here is a blue one for starters
And here is a Black one, that would make a pretty good night skin, notice how the buttons no longer blend into the bg with the new borders....

The blue one is looking good. The black one isn't showing up for me. I assume you remembered to attach it because the previous posters have commented on it.

John, would we be able to change colors on these? I like the amber that is used on the Alpine skin (matches my dash lights perfectly)

not wanting to be overly picky but the controls at the bottom of the screen are looking a little on the blue side compared to the rest of the text.

Good catch These again are concepts, and really am trying to get the colors and transparency stuff as acceptable as posssible. The buttons at the bottom right now, are just "Drag and Drop" from the Blue Devil skin, and will be made white when all is said and done.
Here's a sample of the "Alpine Tangerine" color:
The colors can be changed, but unfortunately it will not be as simple as just "Picking a color". The images will have to loaded into Photoshop, and the BG color painted to the color you want, and then saving the image as a jpg. It's not a quick and easy task, as there are around 180 images in the Blue Devil skin currently. That is also why I mentioned that I will release it in primary colors, probably Red, Green & Blue, and probably black as well, and if anyone else makes a custom color, am hoping they will share it with everyone else.

I suppose making using CS2 batch conversion and macro (somthing like that, i know it supports something along this) it could be done quite easily.
