I switched my res to 1024x768 and love the result.. with one exception. The song title at the top of the screen(s) appears to be a "line" to low. That is the text is slightly cut off on the bottom from the menu section (for example). this happens on both menus and the player and I think the playlist screen. Possibly all of them.
Has anyone else seen this?

Let me correct myself. I am only seeing this on the player and playlist screen, not the main menus.
Anyone else? I can manually fix this in the skin, but I would rather figure out why I am on the only one who is seeing this?
anyone?

My intent is to create a new set of images with the Blue Devil skin code backbone. This new skin will be VERY easy to change the colors.
Here is an example, based on SteveC's post above. This is the SAME PSD as the Red and Blue ones I posted 4 posts back. Just instead of a solid color background, I pasted this "Steel texture" into the PSD.
I just created this Brushed steel background and simply pasted it into the current skin PSD I am working on. NOTHING ELSE was altered in any way. As you can see the entire skin takes on the color, texture and appearance of the background. This is why I am trying to get the look and feel down, so I can complete the new skin, and then offer the PSD's for people to alter them in any way that they wish to.
uuooohhh - that brushed steel is the same material as my car - hmmm? wonder if it would be too much or whether it would fit perfect with the finish....
either way i like it

LOL! I bet if the fonts were orange/red in that example, it would make the decision that much easier

Thanks for the compliments, it has been a long road, and trying to determine the next course or "evolution" of this skin has been rough with so many, MANY creative examples and ideas!

This transparency thing is an awesome idea. I tried it on a skin I a have in WIP and it is a breeze to swap out backgrounds.
The last one is the same color used in Blue Devil

Hey, newbie here. Plan on a Carputer soon and I'm trying out RR on my home PC. Love this skin (and will really lover the orange one ). Only thing is the weather menu freezes up RR and I have to reset the computer. That said, I couldnt read the 'Blue Devil Help' file. It starts, but no page shows up on the right. Seems these HTML help files dont work on my computer, for some reason.

Wow! Those look REALLY nice! How, in the red one for example, are you getting such a variation from the deep maroon background, to the bright red of the buttons? I have been working with all sorts of levels of the transparency, and when I try to get the colors nice and bright on the buttons, they usually come out with a much lighter shade, pink in the case of the red one? I am starting to think I am doing my transparency backwards . I should probably make the buttons almost totally transparent, and the "background area" darker....

Hello Guys,
New cpc user from belgium here with RR and Blue Devil 11 22 06 skin.
Not yet in the car, first configuring it.
I managed to have (and to switch between) Mph and Km/h in the GPS screen with the RRconfig 'International Standard Units'
As we use here in belgium Km/h, I activated this option.
But , on the main menu it is still MPH and also in the GPS detail screen (in the speedo meter)
Can this also be changed to KM/h (and how ;-) ?
Thanks.

OK. Found already how to change it in de GPS Stats speedometer :
Deleting GPSSpeed.swf and renaming GPSSpeed-KPH.swf to GPSSpeed.swf
Found that the MPH in the main menu('s) is coming from the GPS-HUDCompass.swf file.
Can You make an GPS-HUDCompass-KPH.swf with KPH (for MPH) and m (for ft) in it?
Thanks.

I am a musician, not an artist so I really couldn't give you an explanation to how I made them. I just started mashing buttons in photoshop until I got the results I wanted
The backgrounds are all solid colors or continuous patterns. There is no need to adjust the background. I attached a sample of a button with a patterned background. Note the blending options, gradient overlay and bevel/emboss effects I added. Let me know if I can help.
On a side note, I wish I could completely wrap my head around what is the perfect skin for me. I feel like Manny, , I have about 8 incomplete skins. j/k MGD!!!
Finally (I hope you don't mind me sneaking this in here), if anyone has a nice carbon fiber background, please let me know (PM me).
EVERYONE I found in a web search does not satisfy my tastes. I want one that matches the Alti's dash.
