Button problems

First off, welcome to the forums!

I don't know what happened, but I replied to this post like 9 hours ago, and now the post is gone....

As many other users are using the Blue Devil skin, I know that the 2nd menu's buttons do actually work. This tells me it is something on your particular computer. I would be willing to bet that it is a flash problem.

Go to Adobe's site, and get the latest flash player. Make sure you use Internet Explorer to go to the page, as that will install the files for windows as well. If you use Firefox to to this, it will just install the plugin for the FireFox browser.

That should fix the problem, if it does not, try following the instructions in this thread:
High CPU Load, Buttons Fail to Respond, Flash Issues/Spins too Fast ?

meldet,

2 things,

1. Right click on the desktop, select properties, "settings", "advanced",
"troubleshoot", and reduce "hardware acceleration" a couple of notches.

2. Wait, and wait, and wait some more. I (and others) have noticed that flash can be REALLY slow.

I have seen that bit of advice around in different places on the forums. I just put that info into the Blue Devil Help file as well.

Hey John,

Happy holidays.

so far i've been using Digital Blue and considering i don't use blutooth, phone, tv, xm, or sirius, i couldn't comment on those. The skin seems tight as is and look forward to production. How has the feedback been going for you?

Merry Christmas! Things are going along well. After the Holiday rush is all over, I will begin putting together the different colors ect.

KBreeden has found quite a few little things, and had some suggestions and all have been fixed and incorporated now.

My RR.ini is not going to help, as mine is set up for a XM PCR-100, not for Sirius.

Is anyone else using the Blue Devil Sirius skin?

DigitalFX Skin Help

Ok Guys, who here is good with Photoshop, and would like to help create the new colors for the skin?

I have the PSD's completed, and just need some help making a few different colors.

It is pretty straight forward and easy, just time consuming.

It would involve: (For instance the Menu skin)
  • Loading the Menu.psd
  • Changing the Background color
  • saving it as Menu_Off.jpg
  • selecting the on indicators layer and saving the "Menu_On.jpg"
  • Turning off the on indicators
  • Turning on the Button On State and saving it as "Menu_Down.jpg"
  • Rinse, and repeat for the rest of the 57 PSD's for the skin
I have found no way to really do this as a batch, as each skin is different in the layer organization ect.

As mentioned, it is pretty easy, just very time consuming. I have made the PSD's as easy as possible to do the color changes ect. The on buttons, indicators ect are all grouped in layers, so all that is required to turn the buttons "On" for instance is clicking the "Buttons On Group: to make them all visible with a single click. If anyone wants to help out with this, drop me a PM and we can talk about colors ect.

Missing files?

It *appears* that the browser*.* and the favorites.skin are missing from the zip. Not necessarily a bad thing as I learned a little bit about skinning, but if you could post them it would save from recreating the wheel.

Edit

I think we may have forked the conversation. I did get your response, JohnWPB, thank you. I did download the 2.1 beta.

Two Problems

I'm hours away from my first install... come on UPS truck... anyhow... I have two questions.

1. I cannot for the life of me get the music to mute whenever IG is speaking. I have lowered my mute and clicked the IG settings... any ideas?

2. Also, whenever BD first starts up, music plays and all is well. After I access GPS any way, there is a little static in the music? Any thoughts?

3. The Gas Map function. When I press Map It. It returns to the GPS screen without doing anything. Just a blank screen. ??

Thanks guys, your advice is always helpful.

Well, I have 3 answers for your "2" questions

Check the thread for the iGuidance Auto Switch. All of the instructions to get that working are in that thread. I incorporated the code into the Blue Devil skin, but am no expert on it by any means.

I have never heard of this one happening, I am sorry, but I have no clue on this one.
