The file you want is Blue Devil Help.chm. It comes with the Blue Devil download. Just double click the file.

Nope, not in the beta 2 download. "Digital_Blue_Beta_2_by_JohnWPB.zip" from 12/21/06

Okay, I now see what's going on. You downloaded the Digital beta, which is the version currently undergoing testing. That file doesn't contain the help file and a bunch of other files. John may not have realized that the link in the first post of this thread also shows the Digital beta.
Go back to the first post in the thread, click the download link and then download the Blue Devil 11/28/06 2:36 AM version. It contains all the files you need, including the help file. You should then delete the Digital skin and load the Blue Devil skin per the instructions.

Beta Skin Release
Sorry guys, there has been some confusion on the beta skin. I should have placed it in another location to download, and not in the present Blue Devil download area.
The Beta skin will not work on it's own. None of the weather scripts, iGuidance scripts, and many many other options will not work. It is simply the skin files and the images.
If you have downloaded the beta you must first install the Blue Devil skin. Then copy the images and skins to the Blue Devil directory, and it should work sort of ok
The new skin is getting pretty close to being released now. A lot of the kinks, bugs and such have been worked out.
Also many, MANY thanks to Ruffy and Toons for helping me to create a few different color variations for when it is released. The color changes can take upwards of an hour to do, so the help is MUCH appreciated!

This sound most definately like a flash version problem. This is a WELL known problem in all the skins that use ANY flash. The clock and compass in the BD skin are flash. When the lock up happens, check your CPU usage, and I am willing to bet its maxed out. Check the Blue Devil Help file for some fixes, and links to other fixes.

New Skin Update
Ok, it's starting to come together! Ruffy and Toons have been helping BIG time in creating a few color variations of the new skin.
I just finished a "Brushed Metal" version, that looks very similar to the default BMV2 skin (Just with a lot more functions and all )
Here is a screen Cap of it:
Toons did a VERY kewl variation called Burl Wood. I never would have though of this, but it looks sweet! Will match a lot of cars with wood accents for sure!
Keep in mind, both of these versions are using the same PSD's! By simply changing the background color/texture, and applying a new style to the buttons, just about any look is possible. Once a style is created for a button, that style can be simply pasted to all the buttons at once. Beleive it or not, ALL of the buttons, bars, text area's in the entire skin, are simply white boxes, with styles applied to them.

I don't personaly have use for the burlwood design in my convertible, but it looks HOT! Good job on all of them. Can't wait for an amber version.

What colors do you plan on releasing again? I know you have dabbled quite a bit with different color schemes, but since time is limited, what colors did you ultimately decide would be in the release?

Ok, so far the colors with the release will be:
Blue
Copper (Orange)
Burl Wood
Brushed Metal
Red
Steel Denim
Purple
Gray
Teal
If you aren't sure what these colors look like, look back in the past few pages of posts, as screen captures of most of them have been posted.
Many thanks again to Toones & Ruffy for helping to take the PSD's and save them as the final JPG's for the skin.
When the skin is released, the PSD's will also be made available for download so anyone is open to making their own color and style to match their car and stule.

I don't suppose it is too late for a request for flat black. I am trying to match my stock radio/dash look. The buttons, font and everything else match almost perfectly with my stock radio and dash. You had a sample of the color I am talking about earlier in this thread (when you first started experimenting with different colors, post #757).

It's not that it's "too late for a request".... It's just that there is no possible way that I could possibly come up with a color combination to match every single persons taste.
The skin will be released with quite a few different basic color combinations (Thanks Toons & Ruffy for helping with this!). The original PSD's will also be released so anyone can be creative and come up with something to match what they want. (and hopefully post and host it somewhere for others to use as well).
Oh!
By the way........
Happy New Year Everyone!

No biggie. I will give the brushed metal a try to see how it looks in the car. Keep up the great work. BTW, did you incorporate the V1 skin in the next release?
