Some New features in the new skin!

Ok, after watching this thread, the forums and such over the past months, There were a couple things that I noticed.

First off, the Flash problems! With many of the M1000 and other Motherboards that are older, flash can be a nightmare. I know, as I went through the same problem, and spent many hours trying to figure it out.

Another is the clock logo's. People asking for one type of logo or another, and having problems getting them to display correctly. Many new users just do not know where to put the logo files, and such.

Both of these problems have been addressed with the new skin. There is a new configuration screen, that will allow you to turn on/off the flas clock, if you are having CPU issues, slow performance, or just seems like the computer has locked completely. When the flash clock is turned off, it will be replaced by a Logo of your choosing, as well as a digital clock, with the time and date using Road Runners built in labels.

The Car Logo's can also be changed from the new screen. Simply scroll down to the logo of your choice on the screen, and click change. Simple as that.

The "Speed Measurement" will address another problem of the gauges seemingly showing the incorrect speed.

I hope these features continue to make the skin very easy to use and customize.

Here is a screenie of the new Settings Screen:

Do you sleep? Do you work? Wife? Kids?

I can't figure how you have the time to implement all these great features.

But, I got to say - I for one do appreciate it!

Hahahhah! Yea, I do work, but am single, so that gives me that little extra time

Oh, Did I forget to mention that I also finished the Jump To File plugin integration. This Plugin, written by Djik is fantastic, and works well with this skin.

kbreeden mentioned a couple times that I should include it in the skin. You can thank him for a great suggestion!

Simple scenereo:

in the skin go to the browser screen, select the root folder, and click "+ Album". That will add every song in your collection to a playlist. Go to the playlist screen, and save it as something like "All Songs" or whatever. That list can then be loaded at any time with the "Load Playlist" button.

Once the playlist is in winamp, thats where the magic comes in! Click the button on the playlist screen, and launch the plugin skin. You can then type any partial name of ANY artist or song, and it will display the matching songs as you type. You can then Play it immediately, or add them to a cue to be played.

In the below example, I simply used the word "Park" to test it out:

You can read more about the plugin in THIS THREAD.

You, Sir, are my hero! Just when I thought you were starting to get annoyed at me for bugging you, I see this.

Have you been able to make it work using Winamp 2.95?

Don't forget that it filters by the album title also. So, for example, one could type the string "bea lucy pep" and it would pick up the Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" from the Sergeant Pepper album, but would not pick up different versions of the song on other albums, such as The Beatles Anthology.

Woah! You are now MY Here I did not know that! That just makes it all the more powerful!

As for 2.95, I am using 5.13 currently, as the visulization will NOT (Thanks Kevin) work with 2.95 I am using the 5.13 here on the desktop, as well as in the car, and no ill side effect that I have seen in over a month now.

New Skin "Digital FX"

The New skin is not QUITE released yet. It is undergoing the final stage of "alpha testing". I am waiting on a few thumbs up from people, as well as some bugs that I can stomp out before it is released. I can promise that it will be soon though (In the next 3 days tops) The skin will have an installer, and it SHOULD be a matter of just double clicking the install file, and everything will be copied into place, registered and set up for the most part. Specific hardware will of course have to be done manually, but I have done everything I can think of to make it as automatic as possible.

When the new skin is released it will be a replacement for the Blue Devil skin. I just can't keep updating the Blue Devil skin, as well as the new skin. A single fix in the new skin has to be done to all the color variations as well. Most of the time the bug fixes will just be copying over the skin files to the other colors of the skins. When a new screen, feature or any graphical change is needed, it will have to be done, and saved in each of the various colors.

The new skin has ALL of the functions and features of the Blue Devil skin, plus a few new skins, enhancements and overall changes for the better.

After some pondering the new skin is going to be named "DigitalFX". I needed a name that can be easily used with the colors as well, such as DigitalFX Blue"

JohnWPB,

2 questions:

1. is there an easy way to update how the "online indictor" works? ie: to set it up to work with autodetectnetwork
2. have you test winamp's latest edition? I was having issues with 5.32... see here:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....highlight=nasa

(moved back to 2.95 -- no problems)

Spelling

Yea, Kbreededn emailed me about the Hyundai spelling one, My spelling in English has a little to be desired, when it comes to Japanese, thats a whole different story

Yea, the RR online indicator has never been the best, I put it in there as it's built in. I will look into a better solution.

Hehehe sometimes just asking nicely will do the trick

I tried adding a H2 logo some time ago, and there is just a total lack of good resolution images to work from. I found the font that Hummer uses, but was $39, and could not find a free version anywhere. I eventually gave up. Well I got another PM this morning, and after about an hour searching, and taking a low res version and doctoring it up in Photoshop, I have a Hummer logo. Not specifically H2, but the HUMMER logo, that I did up with chrome.

It will be in the release of the skin, hopefully today.

If you can find a decent H2 logo thats high resolution, give me a link and I will have a go at it.

Exclamation Blue Devil coming to a close.....

Ok guys, the new skin has been released. Check the skins forum.

This thread will be closed soon, as I will not be supporting the Blue Devil skin any longer, as the new skin has replaced it. It is essentially the same skin plus all the enhancements and new stuff.

This skin has been a learning experience, and hopefully that will show in the improvements and enhancements in the new skin.
