Awwww C'mon I like hearing about stuff I had in the 80's (and miss it now). My X-10s are now limited to perimeter security and bedroom lighting, whereas my house in Vegas had everything voice controlled from the sprinklers and pool heater to auto garage openers and closers, hell it even alerted me if there was mail in the box. My family kept asking me. "well can you make it do this... can it do that... let's see you add this too. And like a dare, I go off and make it happen. By the time I sold the house, it was hooked into everything but the stove and the vacuum (we didn't have rombots back then). The hallways would automagically light up as you strode to the kitchen for a midnight snack and I added six channels to my cable for outside cameras, VCR, DVD as well as callerIDTV. The cameras would videotape whenever the PIR sensor was tripped and even send a text message to my phone when I wasn't home and a link to a still of the intruder.
Good luck with the house. Just think of your escapades in the carPC realm and triple the price (OBTW, homeseer is another of those neverending projects).

Ok John, now you have peaked my interest a bit more in the home automation area. Specifically for one problem - I'm a bit obsessive compulsive on "did I remember to shut the garage door". So being able to check the door status, or shut the door would be fantastic. Not sure I want the ability to open the door remotely (I work in network security, so maybe I'm a bit paranoid).
Congrats on the house.

Congrats on the house.
I have my system set up that if I leave, or go to sleep, it will automatically shut the garage door. (The door came with a safety IR beam so if something is in the way it will not close).
Not to clutter up the MP3Car forums with the Home Automation stuff, you can check out CocoonTech.com's forums. It is as good and helpful of a forum community that you find here at MP3Car forums. I have been on those forums personally for like 5 years now.

Current Version of Digital FX
John,
On your site it shows:
DigitalFX 2.11
Updated 04/19/07
02:38 PM EST
But on Post #1 it shows:
Latest Version 2.22: 05/01/2007 12:10 AM EST
Can you shed some light on this? I would love to get the lastest version.

Visualizations
I posed a question in post 1461 about the equalizer visualization. Any thoughts?

OK, get ready to slap me or use a string of your favorite expletives... But after tons of reading I am daring enough to ask a Flash question.
I am having an issue with the latest Digital FX / Road Runner install that sounds like what many others complain about, but not quite.
The issue is only seen on the GPS Stats page, like below...
It has two blue boxes and one white box where the gauges should be, but the gauges are fully functional... and there is never a spike in CPU usage. When I'm actually on the road, the compass and the number of satellites is dynamic, and the speedo works, too. So, the Flash is working, but the background or skin just isn't right.
Thanks for creating and maintaining this skin, and I apologize if I am - but it seemed slightly different from what I have read. If it is the same old thing, feel free to ignore me and I'll get the point.

/ignores squiggle star seventy seven star squiggle
actually if it isn't transparent check that you have a) the latest roadrunner b) you have copied the contents of RR_Add-2-.ini which is on your desktop to rr.ini.
if you have white boxes where flash stuff is embedded then update/downgrade your flash to version 8 (can't remember if it has been fixed to work with 9 yet, but anything less than 8 won't)

I have never seen the Visualization's do anything quite like that.... Hmmm... Check the help file, and also make sure you make the screensaver.ini file mentioned in there, as you should be seeing the burlwood background at the top as well, with the visu being overlayed over it.
I would also check that you have the AVS visu's set up as well correctly, as it looks like nothing is actually loading.

As for the way the gauges look in your screen capture, it is most definitely a flash issue. Read Enforcer's previous post, and give that a try. When flash is installed correctly, that problem should clear up for you.

oh OH! You guys rock.
All I did was download and run the stand alone Flash Player again and everything is good.
Thanks! Not only for helping, but sparing me from the usual venom that noob questions get!

HI.
I use FreeFone and want to be able to see the phone status on the menu.skin and menu2.sin Så i add the future i like. And works fine. But only til i change the clock or logo. The it dissapear. So i guess there is a "default" somewhere that gets "restored" when i change settings. How do i solve this? Please help. Love the skin but want to be able to add some minor personal futures.
Tnx for the greate work. Best skin i ever tested.

You are exactly right. If you open the DigitalFX skin folder, in that folder are the default menu's for the different type of menu styles that get copied out of the subfolder to the main DigitalFX folder. You need to make the changes to each of the menu files in the subfolders there, or they will get over written when you change the menu style.

John,
Before my idiot question, just wanted to say; You're the man!
Anyhow, you had the psd for the XM fav's up on johnwpb.com before the newest version. Is there a corresponding psd for the updated skin? I modified the old one with my fav xm channels and updated the channel images but the old psd template won't work real well with the new transparent skin Can you post the newer psd?
Thanks again for all your work!
-J
