This is awesome John. Thanks so much for your hard work. I hate to ask because you have done so much, but I would love to see a Burl Wood like you posted last month.

One question, is there a way to test the lockout on a computer that has not yet been installed in the car?

Steve

Found a potential bug in the skin/clock configuration using the newly released colors. Here's what happened.

Loaded RoadRunner set to the original DigitalFX Blue skin. Went to Menu, Settings, Skins & Gamma and switched to DigitalFX Copper. Everything looks fine. Then go back to Digital FX Skin Settings and switch the clock to digital. Now the first two screens (Menu and Menu2) have switched back to blue while everything else stayed Copper.

The Copper Skin Menu and Menu2 .jpgs where overwritten back to the Blue .jpgs.

This only happens with Copper, not a problem with Red and BM.

Well First off, it is not a "potential bug" It is a 100% verified bug! Heheheh I forgot to copy the images to the backup folder, where the images come from when switching from digital to the analog clock.

I have it fixed now, and it's in the process of uploading.

Keeping track of a single skin, and maintaining that is hard enough. Now I have 4 of them to contend with! When a single change is made to the skin, I have to do it to each of the other skins/colors as well. If it is just the .skin file, thats not so bad, as they work universally with any of the colors. If however I have to edit a graphic in one, it has to be done in the other 3 as well. This is certainly going to test my sanity trying to keep mishaps like this from happening in the future again!

John,

As with everybody else here, love the skin! Thanks for all the hard work.

Some help please:
1) I can't get my car logo to display.
I added .exe to the file types.
I then go Menu --> Settings --> Digital FX Settings --> I click on my car type then click "change" then "Menu", but the space just stays plain grey/white.
Note: Digital clock works, but not analog?

2) Using iGuidance. When I run it, it always starts hidden. To show it, I click the bottom right button twice to bring it to the front.

1) All of this is probably Flash related. Saying you see a gray.white box is a dead giveaway. Check the help file, under "How do I" the 7th one down that says "Get rid of the white border around the clock"

2) It sounds like iGuidance is not embedding properly. Open the RR config utility, and go to the GPS tab. Under "GPS Window Name" make sure the bax has iGuidance in it.

Works now...10:00am
Curious about FM radio...I never bothered with it because I have XM.
It appears the HQCT unit is the best way to go????
Will this work with John's skin?

Any Radio that works with RR (Mentioned in the FAQ at the top of the forums) will work with the skin, including anything with Radiator support, which I think, includes the HQCT.

I'm curious about FM also. Why does anyone use this with the computer in light of the fact that just about every car already has FM?

Some people (like myself) have completely replaced their stock stereo with the carpc. So if the carpc can't do it, we don't have it.

John,

With all the skin colors that are going to be available it occurred to me that some skins will likely look better during the day and some better at night. That got me to thinking that it might be neat if there was an autoswitch feature in DFX. One could, for example, set it to automatically switch from the blue skin to the black skin at 5:00 p.m. and from the black skin back to the blue skin at 7:00 a.m.

It turns out that there has been some recent discussion on this in the forum and it does work, though it requires some RR configuration changes. I know that with DFX we can now easily switch the skins manually, but I'm wondering if you've given any thought to adding an autoswitch option.
