John

Please don't burn yourself out on these skins. You contribute way to much to get frustrated or burned out to the point of not wanting to do anymore updates. Just let folks work with what is out there for a while. Take your shoes off, kick back have a beer or 12 and chill...

Just some advice

Just upgraded to the latest and greatest version yet. Didn't have any problems updating. However, I can't get the logo working. Clicking on the change button does nothing (first tried the Honda, then tried the others but no difference). Double-clicked the file on the explorer (this worked for me on the previous version) but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Scribble pad and online indicator working flawlessly. What's more is when I go to the weather skin, it automatically connects BT to my cell and logs me in (this actually worked in the last version but it's so neat, I wanted to comment).

Heheheh I did that on Wednesday night for my birthday, but I think it was quite a bit more than 12 though

Hmmm I am not sure what could be causing this. It is just a VERY simple script that copies the name of the logo to the skin directory.

This is all that is in the scripts:
Code:
FileCopy("Acura.png", "..\BDLogo.png", 1)

There are no hard coded paths, so it does not matter where RR is installed.

It is working here on my machine, and I JUST installed RR on a new system for a friend. I popped the zip file that is avail for download on that machine, extracted it and ran the installer. One of the first things after firing up RR then, was to go to the settings page and change his logo to a Red Dodge Ram logo, and it worked as expected.

I anyone else having problems with changing the logo with the NEW VERSION OF RR that is linked a few posts back?

When you guys try it, post a note here in the thread and let me know if it did or did not work for you.

Boy, talk about weird. Was able to change the icon without issues on another PC. I guess it's time for some dissecting but will change it manually in the temp.

Nice, John!

The install worked flawlessly for me. I had no problem changing the logo after the install. I'm giving it a good workout. So far, the only thing I've noticed is that the online indicator is showing "N/A" even though I'm online.

Good work again John.

The install worked this time - on a system that previously required a manual install. The zip archive had a problem with all the thumbnail files, but I don't think that matters.

So questions -

1) the calendar button didn't have the skin defined. I tried just "load:calendar.skin","" but that just resulted in a small screen with 00:00 Today undefined.

2) I see you have a tripmeter and milage skin, but I don't see those available anywhere?

3) You added a picture viewer option instead of the clock (one of my requests, so thank you). Nothing in the help file - how can we change that?

4) Am I missing something on the S&T skins? I can't find an OSK?

5) Are you still planning to come to the Clearwater meet tomorrow? Still not sure if I'm gonna make it.

Calendar is not yet implemented. A few of the buttons on the new Applications menu are not complete yet, but a preview of what is to come

I started working with the tripmeter plugin, and never finished, I may try to get back to it at a later time

As for the picture viewer, from the Help File

The DigitalFX skin gives you the option to change the layout of the main menu screens from within the skin.

To do this go to the 2nd menu screen, choose settings, then DigitalFX Skin Settings.

You can change your display to one of the following:

1. Analog Clock with Compass

2. Digital Clock & Logo (Non Flash)

3. Digital Clock and Compass (Some flash but not as processor demanding as with the clock)

4. Digital Clock and Date with an image of your choice displayed.

To change the image displayed in the center when using the above last option, Create a .jpg that is 400 x 400, and save it to the RR Skin folder as "Photo.jpg"

(You will need to reload Road Runner, if it is running, when you place that image in the skin folder).

I am still planning on going tot he meet. I hope you can make it, would be nice to meet a few of the people in person from the forums.

OK, I figured it!
I replaced "DVD" to "LOAD;windvd_player.skin" in Menu.skin and it works as a champ now!

Hi John
I have a problem about that button "DVD".
I had try to set up in the Road Runner Congif, but it never work.
I mean when I click the button "DVD" ,but not thing happen.
It never open my "external DVD player" .
My external DVD player is "Power DVD 7".
But if I use the default skin(BMV2) in Road Runner it's OK .
The button "DVD" on "BMV2" always work very nice.

On the VIDEO playlist screen, the power icon opens up the OSK.

Running the latest now (blue) and it installed and works great for me! Turns our I now have a preference for the brushed metal over the blue after using it for a couple weeks they are both great however.

I was running my carpc at 1024x768 and each time I have installed the script has told me that my resolution would not be affected, however it was changed back to 800x600 (in the skin, not Windows). No biggie.

I did have some weirdness with the flash clock not showing the numbers after I changed the logo and rebooted. I turned if off to try the compass/digital (works great) I'll check the flash clock again later today.

Ok running the newest blue version (continues to look wonderful),

I have noticed a couple of issues:

1. Running just RR with the blue version (including xport, autonetdetect, &&
winamp) CPU usage is at 20-30% idle. Startup music and it jumps to
55-65%. [ using this motherboard
http://store.mp3car.com/ProductDetai...Code=MTB%2D014
with 1 Gig of memory ]

BTW: hitting buttons increases cpu a lot as well.

2. During RR startup, damn winamp screen gets in front of JohnWPB beautiful
work!

3. Online indicator only shows on-line after I try and hit a site (or update
weather)

Thanks again for all the wonder work!
