Can anyone help me with making a custom programable button? I use Sprint to connect to the internet and since I boot straight to the Frontend (DFX 3.0 beta) it doesn't start automatically when I start up the CarPC. All I need is for someone to point me in the direction of where the code is to say for instanc emake the Sirius Satellite button read Sprint and when I touch it; it runs Sprint's connection manager instead of sirius.....make sense?
Thanks for any help at all.

If you're using sprint's EVDO wireless broadband service, there is an option to make it autostart with windows, and there is a second option to automatically press "go" for you when ready. Go into the settings by clicking on the top/left part of the sprint program window.

It's all in the DigitalFX's ExecTBL.ini. Open that file in Notepad and search for Sirius. The first time it appears will be in a line that starts with "MyApp20". This is where you would add the command to run your Sprint application. Usually these commands load another skin, but I think you can probably launch a program directly from there.
Search for Sirius again in the open file and you will see a section titled "This is the label that is displayed on the Main Menu Buttons." If you change the word Sirius to Sprint in that section Sprint will display in the button that previously displayed Sirius.
That being said, why not just set Sprint up as a program in Launch? It's very easy to do and will work well to make your connection. Note, though, that the Sprint connection manager doesn't embed well into RR no matter what you do.

Yes, that works well if you're doing a boot to the OS, but he said he's booting straight to his frontend. In that case it probably won't connect.

Thanks for the great infor so far.
I am not looking to embed it into the skin at all I will just minimize as soon as it starts.
Ok I have the previous Sirius button saying Sprint now but I don't see anything in the code that points to a specific program.

You need to subsitute the code to launch Sprint in place of the Sirius code in Myapp20 in the exectbl.ini. I am not an expert on this and don't know what code you would place there. Usually, the commands here will launch a separate skin file. Presumably, you just want it to launch the Sprint connection manager. As I mentioned earlier, it may be preferable to launch Sprint through launch (embedded applications) rather than directly through the menu. See:
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-f...cation-rr.html
Also, I believe Sprint is just a dialup connection. If all you want to do is connect to the network you can create a batch file with the rasdial command and then include the batch file as an embedded program accessed through launch. When you launch the batch file it will then just connect to the Internet without ever loading the connection manager. I used to do that before I had an aircard and was connecting through my cell phone. It worked very well. There's no reason the same thing can't be done with the Sprint aircard.

On the dial up subject. I'm messing with DFX (beta)
I have the Boost dial up. I love the Net Radio feature in DFX 3.0, but my dial up isn't fast enough to get consistent music.
Anyone know of a way to kick this up a notch, or set the dial up priority to use only the Net Radio?
...or any other ideas?

Searched.... Any prospective release dat on 3.0? I am rebuilding a new system and figured I might wait for 3.0 before I go through the hassle of getting everything loaded up with 2... Thanks...

I wish I could help, but my experience with dialup was just checking in to download my email a couple of times a day.

If I could just get this NETRadio to work I wouldn't even bother with HD Radio, HQCT, or any of them. I'd be happy with just the NETRadio

Just wanted to thank everyone for the support with the issue I had. I got everything working now but I could not have done it without the help provided.
Which brings me to the next question.....who knows how to change the radio stations? Is there a way to use some of the Winamp radio stations insted of the AOL ones?

Im having an issue with media copy not seeing my usb memory stick. Its how I transfer songs from my computer in the house to the car. It worked for about the first week, but not, when i insert my usb drive, and go to media copy, it lists a drive letter F: which is the drive, but it wont let me switch to it to copy. If i press the F: icon on the screen, nothing changes. I know the computer see it because if i minimize rr and go to my computer on the desktop, everything is where it should be. Any ideas?

Volume / Track Control Issue
First post here. Tried searching the forum for a thread with someone running into this issue and can't seem to find a solution.
- Volume control does nothing in all screens on both music and video.
- Track forward and backward does nothing in only the "Player" screen but functions on the main screen and on the playlist screen
- This last part isnt too much of an issue as I've never had this working in the past, but... Does anyone have a link to a thread of a "step by step" on how to configure the phone utility for RR? I have a Palm Centro with Sprint, and I'd like to get the Phone Utility working for at least phone calls. Internet isn't too much of a worry, I suppose.
I am running:
Windows Vista Business Service Pack 1
Intel Core 2 CPU T7200 @ 2.0GHz
2.00GB RAM
32-BIT
RR Version: 2007/12/13
Digital FX Version: 2.0 Transparent with Service Pack 1 Installed
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
RYAN
