Well, this wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be to do! It's pretty much completed, and works as a standalone application. I just have to add the button and code in RR to pull the info and send it to iG.
The buttons do as follows:
"Save Coordinates" parses the URL, and saves the GPS Coordinates to an INI file. This info can then be taken to the car, and with a single click on a button on the GPS skin, to enter the coordinates into iG.
"Send to iGuidance" simply parses the URL and sends the coordinates directly to iGuidance.

Oh heck yeah - I use google maps probably 20-30 times a week looking for business addresses that iG doesn't have in its database and manually paste them into it - this will be freaking awesome.
I'll be looking forward to this!
BTW - somewhat related, at least to this thread...
Would it be possible to have a button that can add a iG destination/waypoint/favorite using the current location lat/lon? I only ask because your Gas plugin seems to do something with a iG screen I've never seen where it pastes in the lat/lon, figured it might be similar to do something with the current location?
If not, no worries, I just run into situations where addresses aren't anywhere near accurate.

Kewl, doing a little more tweaking on the app. It will accept URL's from Google Maps, Yahoo Maps and MS Live Maps.
As for saving the current location, you can press and HOLD a location on the screen, and iG will give you a context menu to save the current location. It's kinda tough, as it takes some doing to use your finger to select "Save This Location". I can make a button for that, but I am running out of space for buttons
I may make an AutoIt overlay panel that can slide in and out of view with a level of transparency to add some more iG features.

Sweet - yeah you are about out of room for buttons. Any more and it'll get uncomfortable...

That has been a challenge since day one for me, finding a place to put buttons! I do not like things cluttered looking. On the other hand there are quite a few more things that would be useful on some of the screens. Its a touch balancing act.
Here is a revised screen cap of the Application. It will allow URL's from 3 three major mapping services, and parse the information to pass to iGuidance.

Terrific work on the whole skin, Thank you!
I am using iG 3.0 UMPC version, and it works great. I would however like to be able to zoom and maybe switch from 2D/3D when I am in full screen mode. Would that be possible?
Thanx,
Ron

Enen though I reshacked the visible iG buttons, they are still there. If you press in the center left and right of the screen you can zoom in and out. You can also access the menu screen by pressing the lower left of the screen as well.

This is a stand alone app that will work completely outside of Road Runner actually. It is just a matter of putting the code on a button in Road Runner to run it.
The application to convert the coordinates (screen captured above) is meant to be run on the home/office PC. That parses the info, and saves it to an ini file. Then its just a matter of how you want to get it to the CarPC (More on that in a minute). Once on the CarPC, there is a 2nd part to the process, a script that reads the ini file and manipulates iGuidance, and sends the codes to it.
As for getting the info to the CarPC, there are many creative posibilities. You can have the ini in a synced folder on the desktop, that when you bott the CarPC, grabs it automatically over a wireless network. You could email the ini file, and save it in the car to the correct folder. You can use a thumb drive, and when the app is run, save the info to the thumb drive, and an auto run file on the thumb drive, when inserted to the CarPC will automatically copy it ect ect... There are many creative ways to do this I probably have not even though of yet.
As there seems to be more interest in this than I though, I will include it with the skin as intended, but will also release it in the plugin's section, with instructions on how to use it with any skin.

John,
I'm a little surprised that you wouldn't be able to just do it on the carputer. The greatest utility would be to be able to bring up the address in the web browser and then hit a "nav" button that would have IG navigate to that location. Or maybe there would be a button that says "Save" and it would save the information to the ini file on the carputer. Your application could then give you the option to navigate to it, map it, or whatever.
Maybe I'm the exception, but I never do any trip planning on my desktop and can't see it being useful if I have to save the information to a file on my desktop and then port it to my carputer in some manner. As you know, I'm not a programmer so maybe the ideal is simply not doable.

if this script doesnt evole into that type of solution i could easily write a "launcher" script that would do just what ur asking.

Some of us have to park hundreds of yards away from our place of living so most of my planning is on a desktop.
