I haven't had the full time to go through every post here, so please don't blast me. (or if you do please make it harsh) When I use digitalfx blue or copper my GPS receiver has a problem being found. (IG3.0+Microsoft 360 gps) I can load RR with Blue devil without this problem. I also downloaded the new IG exe you had in an earlier post and loaded using that. I still get the same problem. I'm also using the updated rr.exe you had posted. I also added the mung to the rr.ini
Error: Please make sure GPS receiver is plugged in correctly. (only with Dfx, not blue devil nor default RR skin)
P.S.
This skin is the greatest. I've been using Blue devil for a while now and enjoyed that as well. Keep up the great work.

Is that what you really meant to say?

It sounds like RoadRunner is grabbing your GPS receiver so your nav can't use it, though if that were the problem I don't know why everything would work with Blue Devil. Are you using a port splitter such as Xport3? Does your speedo work in DigitalFX when your nav is not working?

Yeah I meant make it harsh, if i'm gonna get it, I want it full on, lol. No port splitter nor change of port. No the speedo does not work. And Blue Devil works 100% with the gps, I don't know what could have changed.

LOL. You gotta respect a guy that doesn't mind taking a beating - sort of like Paul Newman's character in that famous fight scene in Cool Hand Luke.

Anyway, this is perplexing because if it works in Blue Devil it should work in Digital FX. I assume both skins are in the same Road Runner folder so they're both using the same rr.ini. You said you're not using a port splitter. In that case, both the speedo and your nav can't be working in Blue Devil. Are you really sure they are both working?

No the gps used to work, however the GPS data screen (in fx and blue devil never worked) Maybe they are conflicting now?

It's possible that you have 2 instances of iGuidance running. I added some code in the autoexec.tbl file for personal use, and forgot to take the line out before releasing the latest version. Look a couple of pages back in this thread, and there are instructions to fix it.

Also take a look at the DigitalFX Help file, under "How do I use the GPS gauges / more than one GPS device"

Yes, they are conflicting but at least one of them (GPS or Speedo) should work in DigitalFX. You need to do the following:

1. Download Xport3 (attached).

2. Open iGuidance outside of RR. Go to Tools/GPS Options/Autodetect. This will tell you what port your GPS Receiver is using.

3. Load Xport3. Go to the input section and choose the com port determined in 2 above. Then go to the output section. In the first output block choose any available com port from the list. Remember the number because it will be the com port setting that you use in iGuidance. In the second output block pick any other available com port. Remember the number because this will be the GPS setting that you choose in RRConfig. Click the enable service box. Leave Xport running (you should include Xport.exe in your startup folder so it always loads upon startup).

4. Open iGuidance outside of RR. Go to tools/GPS options/Com Port. Designate the com port number that you chose in the first output box of Xport. Exit iGuidance.

5. Open RRConfig. Hit the GPS tab and in the box labeled "GPS Port" type in the number of the com port that you chose in the second output box of Xport. Save and exit RRConfig.

In a typical scenario you should now be able to run iGuidance and the speedo in any RR skin. I have found Xport to be finicky at times so you may have to open Xport and just make sure it is shown as enabled and everything seems to be working. If Xport is receiving the information from your GPS receiver the NMEA data will be shown scrolling at the bottom.

If the above doesn't work then it might take a better brain than mine to figure it out.

Can't install RED nor BM

I'm getting an error when trying to install the Red or BM DigitalFX. After some searching, i found reference to the problem and i seam to understand that by downloading the latest archives the installer would be fixed..well, i just downloaded and tried to install but the problem still persist.
The DigitalFX Red folder appears in the RR skin directory but there's only a temp folder within it.

I saw where it mentioned to install a beta version of RR but i didn't since the version i have now is newer..maybe i should!

I also saw where you had to "comment-out" a couple lines but i don't think it applies.

I also downloaded and installed the VB runtimes from Microsoft.

Instead of going through all 40 pages in this thread, i figured i take the heat and hope somebody would feel sorry for me and eventually point me to the answer..

Thanks for any help.

As much as I'd like to help, John is probably the only person who can address this one.

By the way, for all of you who love this skin please show your appreciation by making a small donation to John as shown in the first post. He has put literally hundreds of hours into this and goes out of his way to help people with their issues. Not only that, he uses donations he receives to help purchase additional equipment that he needs to add capabilities to the skin.

(Sorry, John, I know you'll be aggravated with me for posting this. )

kbreeden - you seem to be really knowledgeable and helpful regarding this skin. Do you have any thoughts on the questions I posted in 646?

Well, I don't know how knowledgeable I am, but I'll tell you what I know. I use XM and had the very same issue with XM a while back. I recall John doing some kind of a fix that solved the problem. I use the blue skin. The blue skin has been the flagship of DigitalFX and my sense from reading through the posts is that blue is the most up-to-date. If I were you I would try Sirius with the blue and see if it works. If so, the issue is peculiar to the copper skin. If not, it it related to the Sirius skin in general. Please post the result so John will know how to address the issue.

Anyone using RREarth skins in FX Blue?

I can't seem to get it working.

Using the RR beta (not tonight's release)
registered RREarth.dll

The FX blue RREarth skin opens up, but google earth never opens. It opens ok when I run it outside RR

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, I've looked back quite a few pages and no sign of adjusting autoexec.tbl, even tried a search for autoexec.tbl and all it found was this instance.
I think I have getting extra copies of iguidance popping up and it'd be nice to stop the clones before they overrun the system

Great new skin BTW, just rebuilt the car computer and it's a perfect addition.

Treetop - try extracting all the files in the ZIP to a temp directory and then running the installer.

Or read the included help file and follow the manual install process. It isn't difficult or that many steps.
