Great new skin BTW, just rebuilt the car computer and it's a perfect addition.

I believe i already posted about this.. but you need to extract all files from zip before running the installer. a friend of mine who is also a System. Administrator has a stupid habit where he will not unzip things and hope it works... it baffles me, he claims that occasionally it works and saves him time.. In regard to which skin to use i believe John had said that the Blue was the only one he was going to be update currently because its a pain to make the same complicated changes for 4 sets of the same files. So when in doubt go Blue!
and to CKNY (SP?): try the toggle name option that is in the music screen. if that doesnt work check the "titles after" option in RR Config.

Go into RRConfig, hit the music tab and double-check that you have "*.exe" (no quotes) included in the audio file types box. I know it doesn't make sense, but I believe it's necessary for logo switching to work.

Ok, it has been a while coming, so wait just a little longer
I am beta testing the new Road Runner, and it looks like it's finally getting where I wanted to be when I started on this skin. There will be now more individual version of the skin. No copper, blue, red ect.
pause.....
.
.
.
Just s single skin. thats it.
.
.
.
.
Ok before anyone panics and sicks the lynching mob on me
The skin will have a new pop up screen, that will let you pick ANY color you want for the background. You will also be able to use your own texture, color, photo or whatever you want for the background. All of the buttons and text area's of the skin will now take on the color of the background.
I am in the middle of going through all the PSD"s for the skin now, and doing a little tweaking. Give me a little more time, and hopefully no one will be disappointed.
The skin is set up that way currently in the PSD's. The problem was that Road Runner did not allow transparencies, UNTIL NOW I just have to adjust the levels of the transparencies on ALL of the PSD's a little bit. This will take a few days working on it here and there. I will work on it as much as I can as I find the time. I already have other major projects going at the same time. Finishing up the skin for an install for someone, getting my CarPC back up and running, and building a Media Center PC for the living room.
This will also do away with the need for a day & night skin, as you can just change the BG image to change the entire skin. I will write a script to this automatically based on the GPS sunrise/sunset times, or on a manual time input.

Looking forward to it! Any possibility of being able to map at least some of the buttons with an icon, text and link since u r not releasing psd's? That way it would truly be customizeable.

Possibly in the next version. I just want to get all the PSD's saved out to PNG's and get this all working first.
In the future I would also like to make the text and Icon colors dynamic and changeable with one setting as well.
I have been testing a couple of the screen's here so far, and it is working pretty well. There is just one hangup with indicators (Mute, shuffle, repeat ect).
When for instance you mute, and then unmute, the mute indocator still shows up at 50% transparency. I have PM'd Guino on this, and am waiting for a response. If it is not changed on Guino's end, I will have to redo how all indicators are done throughout the skin.... I hope its something he can fix

Or read the included help file and follow the manual install process. It isn't difficult or that many steps.
Manual install worked! I had read the manual but it wasn't obvious where the skin folder was; i found it within Roadrunner>skins.
Works like a charm. Thanks.

I am using RadioShark and the AM/FM Button isn't working at all for me. The only way I can change between the 2 is close RoadRunner, open the RadioShark software and change, then open RoadRunner back up.

I just did some research, and as far as I can tell the skin is correct according to Evolution VIII's instructions from THIS POST.
Quote:
BUTTONS
"RADIOBAND" - Change AM/FM
Here is the command in the DigitalFX Radio_Player.skin:
Quote:
B,115,201,93,75,"RADIOBAND",
So all looks well, according to his commands/instructions. All I can suggest is to PM Evolution and see what he has to say about it.

LOL You're probably making the same mistake i made at first..do this:
After you unpack the archive, look for folder called "Road Runner", open it then find folder "skins", open it and there it is! (in my case called DigitalFXRed") THAT's the folder you are supposed to copy to the RR skin folder. You'll know it's the right one if you open it and it has the all the jpg's that make up the skin..
