as of now i am having 2 major issues.

i cant get iguidance to embed itself into RR, ive patched it with the file on the website also. It just keeps opening a regular window.

second i cant get the picture to change on the front screen, ive added *.exe to the file types and still no go. is there any plugin or extra that i need installed? new version of directx? etc.?

any help would be great.

I posted in that other thread, thanks John. Hopefully I can figure something out. Does the button work for you?

I solved the issue with the RadioShark. If anyone else is having the same problem you need to install the lastest version from Griffin's Website and then apply the patch from the thread John posted earlier.

Check out post #473 on page #24 and see if that fixes it. Also make sure the window name is "iGuidance" (no quotes) in RRConfig.

would it be possiable to have the mappoint route planner screens in street and trips.

what happens at the monent is this :

screen before route planner

and when i press route planner

Basically i'm after the osk to type in the route planner box on picture 2
also what skin do i change for the audio gps button to load my gps in player window ,what should i replace the line with

I am having trouble integrating my Valentine One with DigitalFX. I have my V1 working properly with SoftwareOne using the ttl2usb box. I saw in the skin folder there is a valentine.skin file and associated graphics. I have not been able to pull up that screen. I've read this entire thread and I don't recall anybody mentioning using their V1 with this skin. Is anybody using their V1 with DigitalFX? How do I access the Valentine menu?

I've got pretty much everything working on my reinstall (thanks for the exectbl Vs autoexec advice

except for one thing..
When I press the video button I get the menu along the bottom and 'full' in green at the top and then roadrunner locks up, I have to cntrl-alt-del and kill off RR.

Anyone run across this video lockup issue? Any idea how to unstick it?

I have had this happen before as well. Its not really related to the skin in use at all. There is a video.ini ( I think thats right, as I dont have RR installed here just yet, as am re-doing my computer). Delete that file, and all should be ok. It is a file that remembers the last position of a video, and sometimes it just causes RR to hang.

Any idea why the list of clock logos does not show up in the Change Clock Logo file list? The PNG files are in the logos folder...they just don't show up in the list.

I did a reinstall. At first I had rr (and Digital FX) installed in C:\rr. Then when I reinstalled, I put it where it was assumed to be located in C:\Program Files\Road Runner. Now the PNG files don't show up.

Where is the $skinpath$Logos variable is set? I am wondering if it is set incorrectly.

Make sure you are using the latest beta version of RR. Earlier than the middle of February, and the PNG files will not show up in the list.

The $SkinPath variable is set internally in Road Runner, based on where Road Runner is physically installed to, and is automatically set.

Errr...thanks John. That did fix it. Somehow when I reinstalled, I replaced the version of RR.exe with the wrong one. Instead I was using one from 10/06...properties said it was a test version for iGuidance. So now I can see the PNG files, but now iGuidanceUMPC does not get killed when I exit rr. iGuidance works fine and the GPS stats works fine. But if I stop and restart rr, they don't work anymore. This was workign with the other rr.exe I was using.

The RR.exe I am using now has nothing interesting (in properties, it just says V 1.0, guino for company, no comments). What is the correct version to be using?

I don't know if this was a recent change or not, but I had to add the closeapps=true in rr.ini. Now iGuidance closes when rr exits. When I was using the older rr.exe, this wasn't needed to shutdown iG.

While running through and testing everything, I did come across an oddity. If I launch the DVD player, the DVD controls skin comes up at the bottom of the screen. If I hit the "return home" button, the main menu comes up, but the DVD controls skin doesn't exit. If I wait for the controls skin to be autohidden, then I bring it up again, it works fine.

Is this a problem or just another setting somewhere?

Mine does that too - but then I'm using the brushed metal skin(which is not as updated as the blue skin) so it could be due to that.

It may not necessarily be a skin problem though as the default RR skin does that to me as well, on the DVD skin, and a similar issue on the cd-rip skin. I just wait for it to time out.

I got an error while testing out the skin. I dont know if this is a RR error or Skin error. This error occurs when I navigate around in the app, opening different menu's and screens. See attached.

Error Message: "You've ran out of video resources. Please set the screen limit to a number lower than: X"

X = a number from ~4 - 18

There is a setting in RRConfig called screen limit, make the adjustment there.

just a bit of an update:

I am still working with Guino & Liquid Smoke on how the new transparencies will be handled in Road Runner. Until this is settled, I can't start editing the skin to make use of it, as things may change. When all is completed, look for a new skin that you will be able to change the color, texture and such from a menu within the skin. Also the ability to choose your own background for use as well.

On a side note, the Valentine One software (Radar Detector with a PC interface) was asked for by one of the users of the DIgitalFX skin. For the life of me I can't remember who it was! hahaha getting senile I guess. If whoever is using that skin with the DIgitalFX skin could PM me it would be much appreciated, as I have a couple questions for ya. Thanks!
