Open RR Config and look to the right of the screen for DATE FORMAT and change it to: MM/DD/YYYY

Optionaally, you can remove the seconds from the clock, or the AM/PM to suit your taste.

Question regarding auto-location weather

Is there something you have to do to get the auto-location working with the 5th weather preset? From reading your help file I could only find that GPS had to be set up, which has been done.

Thanks again for creating this great skin!

I just checked my Weather 5th button. It works.

Go to your " GPS stats " window to see if your GPS is locked on.

it takes a little bit to get the first time. wait 1 min or so.

John - the weather locater works . But, I live in Chambersburg,PA and the weather finds me at Chambersburg,IL. ( that is on the 5th button readout.)
I alway had to put the state in on the button presets to get my location.

And is the name on that button changeable ? can it be changed to "GPS Area " or anything other thing that make more sense . Or does it suppose to change with area.

Are we suppose to add " localdatacaptureinterval=* " to rr.ini ?

Wierd,

I'm locked on 8 satellites and the speedometer and GPS volume control are working fine.

It just stays stuck on Lake Worth. I've customized the 4 other buttons and I am able to pull weather, so it's not an Internet issue.

Go to your " GPS - Gas price " after you get the local gas prices. You can then update the weather. The weather uses the Gas price zip code some how.

I changed my " Lake Worth " button to " Auto City " it in the " Skin.ini " file.

Sorry about the weather issues, Sonixxtasy02 just released the code the day after the new RR came out, and the skin was released the very next day. There are still some issues to work out and all, and that is not quite completed / bug free as of yet.

The button label is supposed to show the name of the city that you are currently in. I can make it so you can press and hold the button to name it whatever you want to. That will not change the function of the button, it will still be based on GPS, but it will change the label of the button if you want to.

Yes, that is one thing I overlooked, (Thanks Bump) you do need to place the following line in your RR.ini file:

localdatacaptureinterval=1
(the 1 is the interval, in minutes, that the information is updated). Meaning if it is set to 1 that it will be one minute after RR starts, before the weather is available.

I haven't had it happen here, but I did read where one person posted that RR would sometimes hang, if you accessed the local weather without a GPS device connected.

Thanks again for the screen cap's Bump, The new one you put with the moon and the weather is sick! Wow! (So what do you guys think of the new weather icons?

Now I want to see more screen captures from the rest of you guys! I spent a lot of time on this skin making it transparent, and wanna see what you have made the skin look like!

Sweet! You mind if I include those with a future release?

Minor Updates to the skin

Kewl! your response was JUST in time, as I was checking before I did the next build. This installer will put the latest RR onto your desktop, and NOT overwrite the one in the RR folder. (Actually I forgot to take that warning out of the installer, so just ignore it for this release

With all the download issues reported, I added a mirror over at CarPCnet.com. So if one is slow or down, the other should work fine.

In this release, a few minor issues fixed:
  1. Sliders now match the skin.
  2. Slider area's now have a larger "Touch" area on the menu screens.
  3. Icons on the first menu converted to match whatever color is behind them
  4. Jpg background for the CD-Rip Plugin
  5. Moved the images on the weather icons a bit to align them better with each other when viewed onthe 5-day forecast screen

I just Dl'd it and will try to install it tomorrow.
I have a suggestion, and it was mentioned earlier:

Quote:
3. Waaay minor - can we have a clock on the Player skin like there is on the Radio skin? I leave mine on either Radio or Player 99% of the time.

I would love to see the clock on more of the various pages.

Thanx a bunch!

Ron
