For anyone that is having these delays, hang-up's ect, please Download the official RR release HERE and replace the one that came with the installer.

Please, let me know if this solves the issue. I think I have narrowed it down to this, but I will not know unless someone tries that and lets me know if it worked for you.

For what it's worth, I was having lock-up problems, downloaded the alternate RR release per this post and all is now well.

CD Detection App I am working on

John, Great skin and most complete skin I have found. It looks like you have a good handle on how the play list works so i hope you do not mind me asking you for help with a problem I am having with an app that I am working on that monitors the CD drive and auto loads the player with the play list. The problem is I am new to this and not completely sure how the play list work and when they load. I have it working mostly now and the tracks play and show up but would like to ad CDDB functionality to show the name of the tracks in the play list as well. Also how can you tell what the current screen RR is using as I want to revert back to the previous list is still in the audio screen when the disk is ejected.

I’m trying to get the Radar and Satellite pages to update. I noticed ZAP had a problem in post 180, through it was fixed in 181, but realized it wasn’t in 183. DeadlyAP1 was also experiencing the same problem in post 1362. I haven’t seen any answers in this thread to the issue of updating the Radar and Satellite information.

I read through the help file and first tried getting the National radar to work, but no dice.

The help file indicates that you can use local information by finding the URL and incorporating it into the INI file, with some possible modifications needed to the SKIN file depending of the image type.

For me in Houston, my best local URL is http://www.click2houston.com/wxmap/2216344/detail.html but the animated radar image is an Adobe Flash image so I’m not sure if that can be viewed from within Digital FX Skin.

I’ve checked the INI file and noted that there is both a “Static” and an “Animated” setting for both the Radar and Satellite images. Do I need to remark out one of the settings?

I’ve also checked the animated file for the National Radar image and it’s file extension (GIF) match the INI file “Animated” Setting. The “Radar.gif” and “Satellite.gif” files exist in the “Weather” subdirectory.

What am I doing wrong?

hey i love this skin and want to use it in my car but i use my keyboard for nav and it'd be awesome if you fixed the keyboard navigation-on most of the menus pressing left/right doesn't move to many of the buttons in a logical order. then I could really use this. thanks.

I don't believe this has been fixed quite yet. You can go into the skin then the weather folder and click on ConvertWeather.bat and it will update the gifs and display. I think this was one of the things John was/is working on. But the new house might be taking all of his time at the moment

Anyone else having a problem getting

localdatacaptureinterval=1

to work?

The latest RR is installed and John's skin is working fine (just wish he'd release a 800*480 version so I don't have to edit every skin and reduce the font size LOL) but in GPS Stats it doesn't show the City/State etc even if I click the 'Locate' area. The Lat and Lon are shown correctly.

Also, are their any PSDs for this new skin?

OK, found the problem - needed the Beta version of RR and it started working

Now I need to know how to install trafficcam and to modify the button titles for the new functions that I have done - if anyone has a PSD of the menu files then please post a d/l link.

John has several times said that he won't be releasing the PSDs.

Hi,

Has anyone noticed RR *dying* -- with the screen going completly black? Music still plays (so winamp must still be going strong). Mouse clicks don't get it back, nor do keyboard presses - so not a screensaver or power save issue.

Most it runs really well, but I still run into these stability problems (the other is winamp stops playing all togather - restarting it via restarting RR or using task manager).

BTW: I have downloaded and installed the zip file referred to by post #1472 -- which has helped get rid of the random reboots, but not the above problems.

Yes, I have also seen this. I always put my system into hibernate. After many cycles of hibernate/resume, I've noticed RR stops responding...but the music is still playing!

One other problem I am seeing is MPC crashing. I haven't looked into the process dump file that's created...but it does get annoying.

BTW, one thing I was having a number of problems with was resuming after hibernate and having the system run as expected. After a lot of looking, I finally deleted the hibernate file and re-created it. All the hibernate/resume problems went away. This includes not finding some USB devices on resume.

Well...you don't delete the file directly. Go into control panel, under power options, disable hibernation, click ok and exit control panel. Go back into control panel, power options and reenable hibernation. That's the proper way to do it.

I had an issue with my screen going black for a while. It would happen after driving for a while and also at startup sometimes. It turned out to be an issue with the lilliput screen. Hit the power button when this happens and see if it doesn't come back for you. Might be the same problem I had.

Nasa

I'm having some spontaneous reboots and haven't yet been able to isolate the problem. Some of mine may be heat related now that the weather's gotten warm, but I also think something else may be going on. JOHNWPB said in an earlier post that it may be related to Sonic's city/state/zip add-on to Roadrunner, so I downloaded the earlier version of RR per his recommendation. That seemed to help with stability, but it's still not perfect.

Buying a new house and moving

Again I must apologizes to everyone for not keeping up with this thread lately! It has been crazy here with the first home purchase that I mentioned a couple pages back. All is on track, and closing should be the middle to the end of next week. In the mean time it has been coming up with the money for the deposit, scheduling carpet layers, to have it done 2 days after closing so furniture is moved only once, (Day after closing is for painting) dealing with the home inspectors, more and more paperwork, scheduling movers, packing, Home insurance, preparing to move all utilities (electric, Phone, DSL, Direct TV, address change paperwork and on, and on, and on!

It has been a very hectic couple of weeks, and hopefully, in around 2 weeks after the move and all, things will be back to normal! My current home looks like a bomb went off! Boxes everywhere, and all that is left in this room is just the computer desk with this computer .

Sorry again guys, and I plan to get back to the skin here and continue support when all this is done, but honestly, this purchase / move takes top priority right now.
