Works out of the box! Much, much better in daylight.
BTW, which FM module are you using?

I am using the HQCT module. It works great so far, no issues what so ever. I am using the software program by a member her who goes by the name Putput. Day skin is much better in the day. Just tested it out today and yes - big difference in visibility. Long Live RR!!!!!!

Hope everyone who downloaded is enjoying the skin! I am going to continue to work on this skin and version 3.0 will have the GDI transparency implemented. This will be similar to the digitalFX skin as that you will be able to use any color, photograph, design etc. as your background and the bottons will be overlayed on your art transparently. This will be added to the 'SET' menu that is already in the skin. Not sure on the ETA of version 3.0 as I have to learn the GDI code first.
I am also considering attempting an optimized version or RR.exe specifically for this skin. I downloaded the newest source and opened it up in VB6 to look at the code. I'm not sure how it will build if I remove some things but most software coding is trial and error, at least in my experiences.

Nice Skin and Project Build
I have watched your build from the first post and it has got me doing my first install and skin. I'm still in software mode, but it's coming. Great job on the write up and the skin

GDI transparent version still in the works. It appears I can use pretty much the same code base but will need to make a couple modifications such as converting the jpeg files to PNG files and saving them with transparent background. Still working on getting there as I really want this skin to be able to handle the transparent overlay feature as then the user decides how it will look/colors etc.

Sneak Peek at V3. Trying a few different programs right now to decide what application I want rendering the final graphics. I am leaning towards illustrator. Here is a start, none of the glass effects or blurs are shown yet but this is basically what I want to achieve. Transparent menu bars. I also want the playlists and such to be transparent but have the text laid over a darker background. In v3 I am also going to be adding a shutdown menu and a split screen MP3 / GPS mode so you can have the playlist on the left and GPS embedded on the right of the normal shock skin embedding area.

Did a lot of R & D today. Made quite some progress with the GDI transparent feature. Looks like this is going to be a lot of hand coding because rrskineditor does not have png support Maybe this happened for a reason though, so I learn how to hand code and understand the text of a .skin file. Anyway version 3.0t (or transparent) is well underway and coding has been started. I may integrate a few more features into this skin to expand functionality.
Here is the first screencap of Shock skin v3.0t running the menu.skin
After testing all morning I think the GDI+ runs better than the solid image skins. I am testing on my desktop though which has A LOT of computing resources although I will be testing on my m10000 very soon.
wonder if rrskineditor will ever be updated to include png support. It would make the conversion to transparent much faster!

So the buttons won't be transparent any more once you apply the layers? (comparing your top and bottom buttons in the screenshot)
EDIT: SkinEditor is the SH**! I do belive it supports png. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-s...ogress-14.html post 209.

Thanks treetop, version 24 has support, this will make things much faster.
Both bars are transparent, the first pic I accidentally pasted my screencap on top of another file so the top bar didn't look right. Here is another pic of the skin running with a different background. I love the transparency effects, opens a whole new design world.
I'm still debating about taking the effects off the buttons and just having a flat black transparent bar but we will see. I'm going to expand this skin some, add a couple more menus, probably add a menu2.skin for another top bar so I can add more functionality. Any requests now is the time to let me know

Well I am making a lot of progress. The background loader is up and working. It has its own menu launched from the SET tab. Audio Menu and browsers are working. So far everything is stable and working nice. I still need to save out and reprogram whats left of the skins (FM, APP, NAV, VID, VID BROWSER, EWF, ETC)
There is going to be a large change log from version 2.0 and I will make sure to document the changes before releasing.

Skin will include a background directory with all original wallpapers. I am also going to make some 'standard' version backgrounds so you can mimic the look of v1.0 or v2.0. I should have the final release done very soon, as once I get into coding I can't stop untill its done. All of the other menus are being revamped and have a new layout for labels that is even easier to use and see. Some of the less important labels have been removed from the SET menu to make room for a larger skin browser and background chooser. I'm loving this GDI, and am very happy to announce that v3.0 will be even faster switching menus and preforming tasks. A new menu with a split screen audio browser / embedded GPS will be in this version also.
I will post a few more screencaps tonight as I was up untill 3 am last night working on this
