I've also had problems with the clipping or 'C' line in RR in general. Most of the time the clipping section does not work for me either. When using a touchscreen the clipping is not necessary anyway. Im booted in linux right now but when my downloads are done ill be downloading this to try it out.

I'll say it again!
Since Freedom 2.1 I think it's the best looking and pro stylish skin ever!
THANKS for the GREAT job!
hope some day I can do something close to this
I'll probably do something on coding once my design skills are only worse than my german :P
Thanks Tensai

don't know if double posting is allowed here
just posted again (no edited last post) to make sure it bumps and Tensai see it
The skin worked like a charm on my EPIA 800 too
Some mods I've already made:
1 - Installed the MP3Art Plug-in to handle some embedded art I got
2 - Changed the J tag on the audio menus to I tag to suport MP3Art
Some sugestions I got
1 - Preload some (or all skins files). On my desktop they load SO fast, but changing screens on epia is kinda slow
2 - Put a preview image on background browser
3 - Put some kind of icon on the audio browser art area, so, if the folder/file don't have any art, the icon is shown filling that void area (take a look on centrafuse audio browser to see what i mean )
Keep up the good job and count me in for whatever u need

Thanks for the comments and suggestions Will. I appreciate them and will put some time into getting them set up. It may take some time since I'll be in and out of town frequently for the next few weeks.
Sorry about the download timeout blk02si. I've been gone for the past 3 days and my server went down due to a power outage sometime during that period. It should be back up now.

is there any way you could put in regular vol +/- buttons for those of us that don't have a head unit? i tried it in my car, and hit the little speaker button, and nearly deafened myself lol. i love this skin, but i'd like to be able to control the vol. instead of only having one setting.
thanks
david

I'll get some vol controls in there. Again, you'll have to be patient, I may not have much time to work on this in the coming weeks.

You know you can always add some hidden Vol buttons if you really can't wait.

Hi all. Relative newbie to Carputers and skinning and all (not to computers though. been around the block a few times there..).
I've been lurking for a while trying to absorb stuff and just waiting for my head to explode
I'm prepping to help a friend of mine do his truck (my first carputer won't even be MY carputer , poor guinea pig!) so I'm trying as hard as I can to progress as fast as I can and get this stuff down pat (not that that seems possible, but hey, you gotta strive for something, right? )
Right now I'm not planning to use this skin (going w/ Digi FX 2.0) but I was reading thru and found your comment interesting blk02si.
From a purely learning standpoint, what do you mean by creating "hidden" buttons? How would one do that and lastly, how does that help the poster who needs the volume buttons that are missing?
I'm hoping that the questions aren't too rudimentary. I tried searching some but couldn't find the bits to make it make sense (TOO much stuff sometimes, lol)
Thanks for the help.
Really nice skin you have there BTW Tensai. I might have to reconsider my choices....

by hidden buttons he means buttons without the on and/or down layers
just put the button code on the .skin file in a place without any button image
the button will work normally, but will look invisible once the skin images don't have any references to it

will's got it. The buttons you see are just images. There are .skin files that tell RR to do something when you tap (click) the area where the button image is. By defining a button in the .skin files without modifying the images to show the new button, you create "hidden buttons".
Davidp could define two buttons, one for vol+ and one for vol-, without me modifying the images. The buttons would still work, there just wouldn't be a visual representation of them.
I'll definitely add them in some time, plus a few other tweaks and changes. But I'm leaving for DC this week so it'll be a while before any of those changes are released.

Adding buttons is really a simple thing. You can even show them by adding some labels. Here is some crude (in comparison to the nice art) but functional code to get you labeled volume controls and a volume % for now until Tensai has some more time to work on this beautiful skin.
Just add these lines to your menu.skin
Code:
L,671,435,124,49,0,0,0,28,"Arial","VOLUME","CENTER"
L,112,406,56,66,0,0,0,48,"Arial","=-","CENTER"
L,18,412,56,63,0,0,0,48,"Arial","=+","CENTER"
B,96,402,89,84,"VOL-",
B,0,403,89,84,"VOL+",
It will look like this and now you have some temp vol controls.

Along the same lines, maybe the playlist preset buttons could be left blank so we can fill them in with text labels of other genres. Unless we will be able to get the PSD's
