be carefull
Coverflow is VERY CPU hungry. on nowadays desktops it's child stuff, but on carputers (usually slower), it's almost death.

One more touch I'd make in the skin is a better music thumbnail
the default just don't look that cool to be in you sweet skin

thanks, thats why i said i'd comment it out. i dont see it being much of an issue on my carpc tho, i have an athlon x2 3800+ and a gig of ddr2 800 ram

ok, stupid question time... how do i change the thumbnails? i agree, they don't look good in there.

Check MMI skin. Guess it have custom icons on PL. You can see the skin code for that

i like what you did with coverflow, if you want to use diferent icons for media and folders, is very easy, make your icons named "MEDIA.GIF" for audio, and "FOLDER.GIF" for folders, place them inside of your skin folder and road runner will use those icons, i'm guessing you can use gif,ico,and png extensions. heres the info pulled from the skincommands.txt good job in this skin. .

FOLDER.GIF|ICO - This is the image used on File Browsers for Listing FOLDERS/DIRECTORIES.
MEDIA.GIF|ICO - This is the image used on File Browsers for Listing FILES (Audio/Video).
GESTURES.BMP - This is the image used when drawing Gestures -- Drawn at about 40% transparency.
This image can also be a GIF file with transparency (just rename it to .BMP).
Any BLACK (RGB=0) areas in this image will be transparent when drawn.

I also improved the Folder/Media images support for next release, so you can directly choose them on a per-scree basis.

ok, i have finally uploaded the new version of my skin.
things i have added:
1: added the ability to change logos from in the skin (thanks johnwpb)
2: added a coverflow screen, the button to access the screen is a hidden button to the right of the album art on the main menu, i did this because i know coverflow is going to be too much of a cpu hog for many people to use, so i didn't want to clutter the main menu screen.
3: added exit buttons to the screens (i think i got all of 'em lol)
4: changed the folder and media icons
5: put the psd's in a separate file to keep the download of the skin small

hey, I've been using CF waiting for an amazing looking RR skin to get me to use this (so I can get off of vista and use asio4all in winamp with XP (faster)). I think your skin is BEAUTIFUL and the layout is exactly what I want.

Anyway, I am trying to use your skin, however whenever I go to load it, I get a column and nothing else. Do you know how to fix this?

You are probably missing this entry in rr.ini: fastmode=-1

If that don't fix it, search for "black bar"

guino, is there a way of change the folder icon image on the next release?i mean, if my folder has a album art folder.jpg, i can set the directoty list to show the art any size i want. with this trick i menaged to space list itens
but even if i set the icon width to 0, it still shows a 1 pixel width vertical line

it can be solved 2 ways:
1 - let me choose a default folder icon on the fly so i can have 1 that is exactly the same BG color
2 - add 1 param to the lists tags with the line height in pixels

guess the second is harder, but it's better. specially with the new transparent skins all around

for the black bar, register the gdiplus.dll and add fastmode=-1 to the rr.ini file
that will solve the problem

i know how hard it is to make a transparent skin. your is one of the lovely one.

but one thing you should change, if i swich on a button i get different backgroundcolor in the area where you make the box in skineditor.

the reason is, that the OFF screen is always in the background. the second screen (DOWN or ON) with the same boxes... graphics as second layer, gives different colors in the area of selected buttons.

i go another way for that problem. the OFF screen is complete with all boxes, buttons aso..
on the ON / DOWN screen are only the buttons, indicators.

so i had always the same transparence on every point of the screen.

Fixed my problem, no gdi installed.

I've noticed certain buttons lose transparency. Also, I noticed when I select a folder with mp3s and hit "play", it doesn't add the files to play list. Am I doing something wrong?

hi, sorry it's been a while since i've updated, i was out of town. is there any way you can modify one of the psd files and then post it so i can see what you are talking about? my mind doesn't seem to be cooperating with the whole "thinking and comprehending" thing today

i would be glad to modify all the psds to get rid of the problem as it has been bugging me too.

I'm also in the process of making an audio player/gps screen instead of having to switch back and forth.

if anyone has used the psd files to make their own screens like xm/sirius radio, freephone, etc. please let me know, or post them here and i will try to include them in the download.
