it might be because you have had or have still got lsx on the system, not saying thats the problem but i have had problems after installing lsx , had to clean it right out before trying anything else.

I too have run into issues after using LSX ... it is such a complete skin and it's installer does lots of stuff to your system. I had to fully uninstall it and clear out the RR install to get things to work after trying LSX ... I do use DFX on my system at the moment with TEK2 and there areno problems with them running on the same system..

Bump to highlight the release of TEKNIK2 Transparent.

This version of the TEKNIK2 skin has many features, but most noticable it incorporates a new "plugin" from El-Camino.

This new software uses the winamp media library to store your songs ratings. Additionally you can search the media library for Album, Title, Artist and Genre. Many thanks to EL-Camino for the use of this new software, and to carputer1 who also played a big part in bringing this skin to release.

Enjoy.

Valheru, looking awsome...

couple of things,

- audio player does not support unicode. music files or dir with non-english names wouldn't load up in playlist..

- I don't know if it's just me, number of times, it doesn't find my music path.. Throws you out somewhere in C drive.... I had to exit and reload RR to get to my list...

- oh one more.. ^^ I know you are all about keep things in simple, but it would be nice to incorporate VIS right on top of that album art in audio player and make it transparent... ^^

ok... i followed ur guide in help folder.

I got autoit error in loading RR.. Line -1: Error: The requested action with this object has failed.

This probably is not a skin issue, but embedded art doesn't work... it flashes jpg file for a .2 sec and dispears.... Are you experiencing this too?

-- update..
tags work great... rate still not working...

yes... winamp 5.13 i had.. and installed active winamp.. one thing i wasn't too clear from the instruction.. was this...

Next go into Winamp and activate the Media Library, and add your music to it.
-- I don't know exactly what it means...

IMPORTANT : Make sure you disable "ONSONGSTART","" and "ONSKINSTART","" in RR's ExecTBL.ini, the one in RR's root.
-- i don't see them so, no need to disable..

open Winamp on its own, right click on the top bar select media libary, if have never done this before it should give you a popup asking to search for music, select your music folder and go thats done.

something is not letting the script Sync_Lib.exe set your music library as the default. you can do it manually do this.
open winamp, Ctrl + P>>MediaLibray>>Watch Folders>>Add Folder(add your music directory)>>Rescan now

sweet... that did the magic guys.. Thank you so much... For one more clarification.. Let's say i rate my songs 4 stars... That shoud save the songs under 4star playlist in playlist folder, right? Then i should able to play that list any time from that folder, correct?

hey brandensin ...

nope . this software from El-Camino doesn't use playlists for the rated songs. The ratings are stored directly in the winamp music library ... which is why you added your songs to it at the start ...

to set the ratings for a song, click on the "Rate" menu from the main autio player and then press the "star" you want to rate it ...

to load a rated playlist click on the "Rate" menu from the main autio player and then press the "Load" for the rated playlist you want (1-5 star).

other things ....
1. support or unicode is actually in RR - I think - nothing to do with the skin ...
2. support for VIS may come in later releases ... but you could add it yourself if you like.
3. embedded art .. not sure about this, I don't use it really but I'll check it out.
4. musicpath lost - never seen that one before - on any skin ...

Just checked this on my setup with TEK2 as was released and embedded art seems to be ok. I have a few MP3 with embed art in a folder with other mp3's and the album art changes with the songs from embed to non-embed ... might be something in your setup ... have you reg the MP3ART.dll file for embed art usage in RR ?

Thanks Valheru, rating works just like the way you said... ^^

Looking at the property of binary i downloaded, Dec. 14th is the creation date. Just loaded Ultimate, and it does what it shold do with embedded art.. I got the feeling something is not set for tek2... Just don't know what it could be... It acts as if there is no embedded art in mp3 file as it shows nothing after flashing of physical jpg for a split second...
