The only thing I can think of as far as the skin's side is to disable the ReloadInfo in the ExecTBL.ini. This is used to update the gas and weather data at startup. Look for the following and just add / to disable.
Quote:
/,[AT STARTUP RELOAD GAS INFO]
"ReloadInfo","gasrefresh"
/,[AT STARTUP RELOAD WEATHER INFO]
"ReloadInfo","RELOADWEATHER"

Any body want to try their hand at incorporating a calendar (rainlendar) into shock..

I've tried and failed miserably! LOL

Very good examples are in iDrive and Polaris..

I have a command setup in the ExecTBL.ini. I had it setup in an older file, I will look for the skin file and post back.

I'm fairly new to all of this, but have a couple of questions..

1. I can't seem to get the video playlist to come up. I can play it by playing it in another application and then opening RR, but can't bring up the list of video. I have set my video playlist path in the RR config. Help!

2. I would like to remove the compass but don't know how. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

Cheers!
Braiden.

Messed Up Post:

[MachineHead]
I haven't used this skin since version 3, I'm quite impressed with how far things have come since then.

I have a little issue with the 6.1.1 version. When I have my GPS set up properly with a port dedicated for RR, the skin locks up on startup. It's fine if I have the GPS com port set to 0 but obviously the compass and other indicators won't work in that case. I haven't played with it much, so it's probably something obvious.

Confused..

In settings.txt i don't see where the external gps screen can be configured independently; what i want to do is put IG shortcuts across the top bar just in the external GPS screen..can it be done?

It sure can, there are 2 ways.

METHOD ONE:

You just need to edit the external_gps.skin directly

METHOD TWO:

You can define the gps commands in settings.txt, and reference buttons to them in external_gps.skin

I would probably go with method one since your not going to use the gps commands anywhere else.

Example (IN EXTERNAL_GPS.SKIN ONLY!!), current 1 button:
Code:
B,695,0,106,60,#B1_FUNCTION#,

You would change to:

Code:
B,695,0,106,60,"iGuidance_ZoomIn",

Then change the corresponding label from "APPS" to "ZOOM+" or whatever your fancy.

Funny you decided to do this as I was thinking how useful it would be just today!

BTW sorry I have stopped working on the shock skin for the moment, been finishing up my carwings skin, very very close to release
