Problem using MPC for DVDs and Video
I have built a couple of skins for myself and looked at a variety of others, read a bunch of threads, and can't figure out if the problem is in my skins or in RoadRunner (I suspect the former).
Anyway, some background: I have video/DVD set as internal (using MPC) in the rr.ini file.
I have a button assigned with the command "DVD" on my main menu screen, and a second button for "Video" on another screen mostly for convenience and my own desire for an uncluttered main menu.
They both work as expected. That is, the DVD button on the main menu will autostart a DVD (using the video_player_on/off, etc screens) as long as a DVD is loaded up - and that's what I want it to do. The video player starts up MPC, but sits and waits for me to go to the video file browser, from which I select a file and it plays fine - also what I want it to do. So far so good - excellent in fact.
The problem is that if I move the DVD button to any other screen besides the main menu, MPC no longer autostarts a DVD - it will play one, but only through the MPC menu choices.
So, is this by design or do I need to take another look at how I have this implemented. I can post skin files, etc if it helps, but first I just want to know if this behavior is by design, or something I'm doing to myself because of lack of skinning skill at this stage in my work.
