is there a way to adjust the transparency percent? I could not find it anywhere. I would like a little more transparency. perhaps more opaque durring the day for better contrast and more transparent at night for better appearance?

also, i don't know if it's been said already (thread too long to read through) but if a song is not rated, the star graphic shows the rating for the last rated song that was played. It does not go back to zero stars.

The transparency is set in the pngs at creation. So no.

Machinehead, if you wanna toggle the font color and type instantly with a single click... this might help...

I use light green and orange on black background... works well... I am happy with it...

I tried the green theme and it didn't look any better than the amber.

My biggest issue is the polarized sunglasses I have, depending on which way I tilt my head the screen will go from totally black to very bright. Stupid polarized sunglasses.

I've found that good old-fashioned white font is the best to use during the day. The background color doesn't seem to matter so long as it highly contrasts with the white font.

Sorry, but I've never really understood asking what other people choose for their font colors during the day. Fire the skin up in the car, go to the color chooser screen, and try a few. Just pick a color, choose change font, and look at the buttons on the bottom. If its hard to read, rinse and repeat That is the best way to see how it looks, and choose a color that is easy to read, and matches your car if possible.

I know, many will say, well my PC isn't in the car yet. Well get it all built & installed when you are ready, and then follow the above procedure

The main reason I say this, is over the past week, when this question has been asked in different posts. I have seen responses for orange, yellow, white, green, light blue, light red, and an array of other colors. well this covers just about everything, so it is really of no help. No one is going to be able to tell anyone exactly what color to use, and everyone be happy with it. It basically just comes down to the individual's taste and readability.

I did the best I could to prepare for this, making text area's and buttons darker than the background color, still allowing for transparency. This gives as much contrast as possible, well trying to maintain a bit of transparency for the buttons and text area's.

DFX3 RR Crash after multiple clicks

I am able to consistently crash RR/DFX3 when in the audio browser screen. If I browse to a dir and double click on the same song several times road runner crashes. i noticed this testing the click behavior settings in exectbl. Below is the rr debug. looks like an exit command is sent, but from where who knows..Any ideas?

30%? oddddddd.... does it show at which file the installer stops? Or it could be just simply missing general ini and skin.ini files...

in post #13 barnyard said a reboot solved his problem with it hanging at 30%.... does it go through the whole installation in your house then you get the <invalid> in RR config or is it stopping at 30% also...I would get rid of DFX2 then install DFX3, if you haven't already.

Muldrick,

In your above post I notice that your path is "RoadRunner" (no space between). I think the default these days is "Road Runner" (space between). I don't know if that may be the problem, but if DFX3.0 is set up to install in the Road Runner\Skins folder, that may be causing the hangup.

I had this same problem on my system at work where I was planning to install and test it. I downloaded 2-3 times deleting the file and my cache each time. Admittedly, I did not reboot. I might try again monday.

It successfully installed on my laptop, and then on my car computer so I'm not that concerned.

For me, it stopped on an ActiveWinamp file.. Can't remember the exact name unfortunately.

On my carputer:
It does not show at which file it stops.
I've rebooted several times.
I got rid of DFX2.0.
Same problem.

On my home PC:
During the install it says it can't find the RoadRunner folder, or the Road Runner folder, I manually create a DFX3.0 folder in the RoadRunner/Skins folder. (Same place where I have the Teknik2 skin) It also asks to install in Program Files/RoadRunner...you'd think it would ask to install in Program Files/RoadRunner/Skins...no?
