Digital Speedometer mod for DigitalFX:
http://www.danielgibbons.net/files/DigitalSpeedo.zip
It currently has a digital speedometer and a Nissan logo. To change the Nissan logo, open Menu.skin and change Nissan2.png to whatever image you use. If you want a flash-based logo, use skin editor. Do the same thing in menu2.skin. When you are ready, put both of these files into your RoadRunner directory.

Any mods done to menu/menu2.skin must be done to the menu/menu2.skin files that are in the menu folder (four different sets of .skin files in this folder)within dfx3 as Kbreeden stated earlier, or it will change back after you change the menu layout.

Sure, I posted it in my above post. I'm not sure if the font size is correct since I haven't tried it in the car yet, so maybe someone can let me know if it works/w double digits.

I'm not sure quite what you mean...
Are you telling me that these 2 files:
-C:/Program Files/Road Runner/skins/DigitalFX 3.0/menu.skin
-C:/Program Files/Road Runner/skins/DigitalFX 3.0/menu2.skin
need to overwrite the files here:
C:/Program Files/Road Runner/skins/DigitalFX 3.0/Menus/Compass
C:/Program Files/Road Runner/skins/DigitalFX 3.0/Menus/DigitalClock
C:/Program Files/Road Runner/skins/DigitalFX 3.0/Menus/Photo
C:/Program Files/Road Runner/skins/DigitalFX 3.0/Menus/SpinningLogo
Wouldn't it be easier/better to just replace the files in
C:/Program Files/Road Runner/skins/DigitalFX 3.0
so that it's easy to change if someone doesn't like it?

yeah people can do whatever is easier for them, just making it aware again that those files are there. Like when I told someone how to get rid of the temps (didn't tell him to change all layout skin files), it will show the temps if he changes from like flash logo to stationary logo. just depends I guess if it's going to be a temporary mod or if it's a button change...some may not want their mods to change with the layout.
EDIT* DON'T OVERWRITE them, just the lines you want to add/change. and I would suggest doing what kbreeden said, and just comment the original lines out.

Found another thing that I mentioned while beta testing way way back that is STILL UNRESOLVED. ITs when you click on weather and there is no inet connection, it will not go back, press menu all day long and its just sitting there, have to shut it down hard.

Ok thanks for the picture, I have downloaded installed it but not yet tested one question though rather than modifiying the menu/menu2 skins is there a way to make it a selectable option via John's DFX setting page..
Also maybe instead of Mi/H you can use MPH ? it would save you one character and leave more room for double digits?

I have mixed reactions with this sometimes it hangs the PC and sometimes it returns back to the menu. I do have Verizon EVDO usually connected at all times, but I have also noticed that even a stripped down zips.dat for location mapping causes the PC to hang.

Ecko, no Im not clicking on the GPS weather. I am simply clicking on WEATHER on my menu, then its tries to dial an inet connection through my phone which at this time doesnt work.
And you say
"Knowing this would happen; why are you clicking on weather if you know you don't have an IC? DUH!"
Its the principle. It should not happen. In a few days I may have it fixed to where it uses my phone for inet and it may not be an issue, but for now I dont want to bury the WEATHER button that I plan on using just so that some jerkoff doesnt press it and lock up my stuff making me have to cold reset.
This is something that needs to be resolved.
Much like going from XM to netradio doesnt mute the XM as it should.
Are you saying that since I am aware of that that I should click on the MUSIC button first then go to inet radio?
I dont think so pal. I dont want to have to be delicate with my actions for it to act as it should.

Personally, I'd like for to continue to help and just ignore those that are aggravating you. If it were not for you I'd have given up on this skin.

Brew, take a chill pill, the way you are going you are going to get an infraction from the before he does.

Wow, I'm using the large (9MB) zips.dat and it is extremely dependable.
