Hi Dan,

first of all must say, I am Newbie but this is a fab skin! Going to put it on my first carpc for my E46.

Couple of questions, no doubt asked before but I have to learn some how.
When I open the skin in the skin edito, it doesnt show the back ground image, any ideas?
Also, what gps software did you use? I have just got Navigator 6 but for some reason, it wont start with the skin but will with the BVM2 one?
Have you any thoughts on adding mobile?

I can't get the background either. It is just gray and I can't see any of the buttons until I click them.

fastmode=-1
background=C:\Program Files\Road Runner\Backrounds\
bgfile=C:\Program Files\Road Runner\Backrounds\Lines_red.jpg

also tried:
bgfile=Lines_red.jpg

RR exe is 12/13/07

Backgrounds work fine in DFX30

Added: backgroundpath=C:\Program Files\Road Runner\backgrounds\
(in addition to the standard background= that RRConfig sets)

Registered GDIPlusWrapper.dll with RegSvr32

Tried a PNG instead of a JPG.

Still no good.

Should be in the Road Runner Folder. If you don't have it, it is attached.
Go to Start>>Run and type in
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Road Runner\GdiPlusWrapper.dll" and hit enter.
Attached Files
File Type: zip GDIPlusWrapper.zip (34.7 KB, 15 views)

If a skin folder has a SKIN.ini file in it, it will override the RR.ini file.
Look in the skin folder for the skin.ini file and change your background path there..

The skin editor uses its own background.jpg file. Replace that with one of the backgrounds of my skin if you want to see it.

For NAV; I use Igo8 with a custom 800x544 skin.

For mobile/phone screen; I haven't looked into yet as I don't see it working that well to be worth making.

As an example:
skin.ini should have:
background=C:\Program Files\Road Runner\Backgrounds\Lines_red.jpg
bgfile=Lines_red.jpg

rr.ini should have:
backgroundpath=C:\Program Files\Road Runner\backgrounds\

Hi,

Do you have your background as a jpeg as all the ones in the zip are png.

Cheers!

Do you have the new Skin Editor ?
If not here it is.
http://myspotontheweb.no-ip.org/Down...ditor_v.71.zip

As for a background, you can use any *.jpg file you want, in the format 800x600 and copy it in the skin Editor Folder.
for your convenience, here is one. Right click annd save as, then save it in the skin editor folder.

I figured it out. Had taken a screen-shot of RR + inifiles + bgdir, uploaded it to this post, then studied it one last time before posting... noticed the bgdir was named "backrounds" rather than "backgrounds". lol
