Simplify and add lightness

Based on BMV2, inspired by Digital Graphite and Simplistique.

At this moment the skin is tailored to fit my needs. The base res is 640x480 and some parts are missing, like hd radio and embedded gps. Some original BMV2 files are still in, these are soon to be replaced.

I never read the description, so I’m not gona bother you with that. The interface is easy to use and only relevant info is displayed, w/o any trace of eye-candy.

Status:
Main – 80%. Top part is reserved, coz I had to lose a couple of switches in my install and the plan is to control the fog lights and rear defroster through RR. I have yet to decide what button to place between “apps” and “exit” in the lower part; maybe a secondary menu.

Audio, video & DVD – 100%. Minor quirks, but everything works as it should.

External GPS – 100%. Tested with Sygic Drive, makes me wonder why I ever need iG. Just jk, I know why, but there is no map coverage for my area to test the program.

Radio & phone – 50%. Graphics are ok. The buttons should work – in theory…

All browsers & OSK – 100%. Almost… Need to figure out a Goggle search button in the OSK.

Looks like I did bother you with the description after all, my bad, sorry.

Screens (I kind of like the png artifacts in the captures… hmm… ):

V5 Prophit. It's in the zip. For some reason, only the dot variant is working on my machine. It's not perfect, but it does the trick. I might end up makeing my own font.

Nice work man, not sure I like the color (only because it wouldn't match my interior scheme). I love that font you used. That volume bar looks very interesting, does the individual dots light up with the position? can't wait to play around with it...did you give up on the transparent button overlay on the video screen, or are you working on a script that will do it?

EDIT* I didn't even see the attached zip, guess I don't have to wait too long

EDIT** man, my observation skills are not that great..I didn't see that the res was 640x480 either...looks damn good though, love the volume bar, thats pretty slick.

Night skin: like the day one, it's also high contrast, but fit for night driving.

BREWDOG52, replacing a color in corel draw is easier and generally more reliable than photoshop. Same goes for resolution. The backgrounds can be stretched to 800x480 without losing a single pixel. But only after all the details are set, especially ergonomics. This is why I posted a working version so early and not just the screen shots.

For now, the color scheme and res fits my setup.

The “menu.rar” is not an archive, just rename the extension back to “skin” and replace the original file in the “v1” folder.

Yah... does anyone have a clue why the font might not show up properly? I did installed it, but RR doesn’t pick it up. (see second pic).

Sure. http://rapidshare.com/files/105495710/psd_cdr.zip.html
There are some small inconsistencies between the pst and cdr files, mainly because this is an work in progress. The files are 644x484 in size, as I got a gray border when exporting form Corel Draw. It's still there, but now it can be cropped away.
