I have seen another person asking about the resolution im looking for (640x480) and i gave it a try myself earlier - it seems to work ok from an overlay point of view (just a test the buttons werent all correct on the keyboard section) but what i did notice is that the application itself seemed to be set for a larger 800x480 screen - im wondering if anyone has any idea of how to tell the garmin mobile pc app that your screen is 640x480 to make it fit better ? It still works ok , but i will be missing the right side of the screen which as you might imagine is handy :s

I tried to resize GMPC down to it's smallest size, and it seems to be only about 800x430 px. So that may be a limitation of GMPC...
Because of this, 640x480 will not be worked on for my overlay.
What happened to your previous resolution? What's the native res of your screen?

The native res on the screen is supposedly 800x480 , but the drivers for the graphics card on the PC dont like that resolution it seems - i may try to re-work it again to get it to 800x480 as i really didnt need it until now , but this is worth making a few changes for

I think it's worth getting the right res, since GMPC will stay too wide. It was a little hard for me to get it on my car computer, but I eventually got it working, and it was definitely worth the extra work.

Ok , i did a bit more research and tried 800x480 and i failed again with a different driver , but strangly , it worked on 800x600 , so all is good with the world again.
Thanks for giving me the push monkeyracer , and i hope i have helped you out with one or two things as well.
Im not using this now since i got my screen size changed , but someone may want it - though it doesnt work as well as i would have hoped.

I wasn't able to get garmin to load using the GMPC.skin
so i have renamed mine to external_gps.skin and set garmin as my app, works a lot better for me.
No Problems here. looks great, however i was wondering if it was too much to ask that you duplicate this for the other color themes in LSX besides red, namely the two green ones.

I'm going to have to re make some of the skin as the keyboard button covers some of the information in certain screens, so i'll try and do something then.
I've been working on changing the actual look of garmin so i might be changing the overlay completely do suit this.
here is a pic of what I've got so far.

*ggrrrr*
Okay im in need of some help here... it seems ElcosMenu.exe closes right after start... ill first write what I have in the different files. Im using the skin called "Crystalblue"
ExecTBL.ini;
"GMPC_OVERLAY","RUN;$SKINPATH$ElcosMenu.exe|GMPCOL .skin"
"GMPCOSK","RUN;$SKINPATH$ElcosMenu.exe|GMPCOSK.ski n"
"X_OVERLAY","SENDMSG;ElcosMenu;Exit"
"GMPC","LOAD;GMPC.skin"
"RUNGMPC","RUN;$garminpath$;!CDP",GMPC.skin
rr.ini;
garminpath=C:\GarminMobilePC\Que.exe
The files 800x600 have been put into my skins/crystalblue folder...
Now ive tried to locate the GPS button... the only one I could find with the consisten img button was in the ExecTBL.ini file and this is what I have tried so far;
"SETFUNCTION3","SETVAR;MENUFUNCTION$BTN$;3||SAVEAL LMENUFUNCTION||WRITETOFILE;$RRPATH$\SKINS\Crystalb lue\titlebutton$BTN$.txt;=/DEFINE TITLEBUTTON$BTN$ "gps_title.png"||WRITETOFILE;$RRPATH$\SKINS\Crysta lblue\ICONbutton$BTN$.txt;=/DEFINE ICONBUTTON$BTN$ "gps_icon.png"||RELOADSKIN",@GMPC||GMPC_OVERLAY||R UNGMPC@
"SETFUNCTION3","SETVAR;MENUFUNCTION$BTN$;3||SAVEAL LMENUFUNCTION||WRITETOFILE;$RRPATH$\SKINS\Crystalb lue\titlebutton$BTN$.txt;=/DEFINE TITLEBUTTON$BTN$ "gps_title.png"||WRITETOFILE;$RRPATH$\SKINS\Crysta lblue\ICONbutton$BTN$.txt;=/DEFINE ICONBUTTON$BTN$ "gps_icon.png"||RELOADSKIN","GMPC||GMPC_OVERLAY||R UNGMPC"
Nothing is really working for me... any ideas?
I tried starting RR up and the garmin pc... and then exec the ElcosMenu.exe file but it seems (by looking in task manager) that is closes right away...

Try this:
B14,0,263,100,66,"LOAD;SETUP4.SKIN",@GMPC||GMPC_OV ERLAY||RUNGMPC@
or this:
B14,0,263,100,66,"GMPC||GMPC_OVERLAY||RUNGMPC"
and report back.

OK, i've shoved the scripts where they should go, and the overlay works really really well. Thing is, it's not opening GMPC at the same time - I have to load this seperatly. I've used the button editor for DFX4 to add the call, but nothing..... anything i've missed ?
Oh yeah, and If i poke the "back" button it closes RR !

I would think if you take another look through the readme and look at the commands to be entered into the exectbl.ini and the rr.ini and make sure they are correct it may resolve the issue but i could be wrong on this.
