GPS skin question

I am working on my own skin and what I am trying to do is put Garmin as my gps software. I Have the button set to this: "LOAD;garmin.skin;Garmin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GarminMobilePC\Que.exe"

and on the Garmin.skin page I have the box for the application and everything comes up just fine but on the same skin if I hit like any of my music buttons that I left at the bottom it minimizes Garmin???? How Do I make it not do that?

I just tested Garmin with the Carwings_Dynamic_lite skin and set Garmin as my external GPS in RRconfig. I ran it (click MapMonkey button) without issue. You could always try to copy what is in the CDL skin.

That still uses the osk I think. I just wanna know how to make where it load into the application section not minimize everytime I hit a button. I want it exactly like iGuidance loads.

RR doesn't minimize any application as far as I know... either the application is doing it or it's just going "behind" (instead of minimizing). You may want to read the last section of this thread below and add a clipping area if the application is going behind like I said.. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-f...cation-rr.html

Yeah thats what the application is doing, its going directly behind RR not minimizing my bad.

Now how do I make it so Garmin actually loads in the application section. I can still grab the garmin window and move it around the screen I want it to be locked in the application area and not be able to move or make it any bigger. Since everytime I click on a RR button it puts it behind the screen making me have to do the clipping area will I be able to use my own on screen keyboard with RR to control garmin?

The OSK in RR will work regardless of clipping area -- if it doesn't work, it's because of the application (and not the clipping area).

From the sounds of it, the application is not embedding correctly (or it would be constantly re-positioned in the application area of the screen). You should read the entire embedding FAQ (the same I posted earlier) and follow the steps there to define the window title that will get it embedded correctly.

Do what I said with the Carwings skin. If I maximize the Garmin window it resizes down back into RR. The Garmin OSK will not be present using this method. Also expand the embedded window to 800x480. This is the lowest resolution that Garmin will fit in. The CDL external GPS skin embedded window is a few pixels below that I had garmin hanging off the screen on my test machine. If 800x480 is the resolution of your system then that may be part of the problem.

Ok here is what my button is set to launch.

"LOAD;garmin.skin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GarminMobilePC\Que.exe;!CDP_FIELD_WND "

I used that program but it did not show the window title for garmin just the class thing. Not sure if you can even use it this way.

Here is the code for the skin.....

The window name is Garmin Mobile PC. Instead of the details on the button use the External GPS in RRconfig like this:

Also see this thread

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-f...ad-runner.html

Then you can use the "GPS" command to open external_GPS.skin. Again I suggest using the Carwings skin as a test.

Now if you could only explain how I get my osk skin to actually send commands to garmin that would be great. I looked at the options in the editor but its not really making sense.

For a OSK skin, you should be sure to use the "apposk" command to load it, but there's no guarantee it will work (just depends on the application itself)...

You can also try sendkey like below:

"ACTIVATE;Garmin Mobile PC||SENDKEY;a"
