RR Holistic v2.2 Beta skin is ready for download

my skin is ready for a download in beta stage...
some things are gonna change before it's totally done...

but for now i need people to check it out and get me a list of bugs

things still need to be skinned:

all mappoint related material

RADIO_ON
RADIO_OFF
RADIO_DOWN
RADIO_EMPTY
(all the radio_player skins are done)

LIST_ON
LIST_OFF
LIST_DOWN
LIST_EMPTY

some isues in the radioplayer (fonts and stuff)

things thats gonna change:

some icons especially in the the front menu
more flash will be added
other tiny things here and there

i prob. forgot something along the way

Dude, that flash thingy in the main menu is AWESOME! when you said you did something with flash I was imagining that gear rotating, but this is definitely more suttle.

This skin is very cool! I'm definitely working on the "scroll title" soon now (unless you tell me you want to use some cool flash effect for the scroll..)

One suggestion: I'd make the MP3 screen with the same space for album art as the Browse screen (since it will display the album art of the current song). Other than that just one technical thingy here and there:
-You can comment out the "Y" lines of your .skin files if you don't want to use "backgrounds" for your sliders (which you don't) that makes it faster and prevents it from "flickering"..
-You'll definitely need at least a "close" button in the applications screen. Next/Prev would be nice for running multiple applications.. Tip: those buttons could actually be placed in a bar at the bottom -- if you do so, add a OSK keyboard button cause I want to add that (but have no screen to try with)..

PS: I also have to improve a bit on the "looping screen" problem otherwise you won't get to the main menu after you click on a few buttons on the top -- unless you add a button there to "LOAD;menu.skin"... I'll fix this no matter what.

if it's this week i wont do the button thingy i guess

the mp3 player screen are gonna be the same as the browser in the next update
the close button will also be there both for apps and gps menu

also i thought about doing the song scroll thingy in flash... i'll have a look at it tomorow too

the flicker thing with the sliders u gotta explain a little.... but i'll see if i can fix it myself

also im making a complete skin for mapmonkey to go with this

new update should be ready wednsday evening

I'll try fixing the menu exit thingy tonight..

the flicker thing.. just adda a /, or delete any line in your .skin files starting with the letter Y.

I tried it at 800x600 resolution with the appropriate changes in general.ini. Doesn't seem to re-size properly. Can I request a 800x600 verision. Looks awesome otherwise.

nice work fella.. I dont know if you intend doing the mappoint skins.. but to be honest I dont think many people use that anymore at all.. Infact you could always do a freedrive skin to match ;-) 0.4 version is going to be out next week, which will be fully skinable.. and only afew jpgs to do as well

p.s Just tested Freedrive with RR.. can now confrim it embeds great :-)

also.. It seems that RR doesnt save its current skin after selecting it.

You have to go into the config utility to choose the startup skin... From the skin menu it only uses that selected skin in that instance of the program... I suppose it would be a good idea to be able to apply the skin, or apply always, or smoething...
