There are no buttons on the sliders, they're just indicators. There are big vol +/- buttons on the left side though and you can skip forward/backward by holding the next / Prev buttons on the right.

There are two areas on the slider definitions, 1 is the display/highlight area and the other is the "clickable" area.. you should take a closer look at it.. If you space and define them propperly, it should be possible to "click" them to change the volume/song position.. you can completely disable the "clicking" support by making the click area 0,0,0,0 (although I never tried it)...

The best thing to do would be to creat submenus for the stuff you never use with a button that links to the submenu, like a button that says "Extras" or "More". When you click it you get a submenu, list style with a bunch of buttons to go to one the things you hardly use.
NICE SKIN so far. Im' liking the simplicity.

great skin, i'm telling you again (i wrote to your destinator's skin as well).
I got a little problem (I'm really a newbie so expect silly question), the fonts on the middle panel where the song title appears are not the same as on your screenshots.. any idea? (they are little big as well and are not displayed correctly)
cheers
rot.-

Thanks!
The screenshots are updated everytime I change something. The skin you downloaded doesn't have these screens yet. I'll upload the new version (v.1.1) of the skin tonight. download it again and overwrite the old one.
