Update 3-11-07

I think I have the Net detect and auto update perfected now.
This Net detect senses RR and if RR closes then Net detect will close itself also will close itself if BYVAR;NETDETECT;0.
This Net detect will only down load if, set interval, ping and vehicle speed has been met.
This net detect has settings for update intervals, vehicle speed, ping intervals, ping timeout, site to ping, auto weather, auto traffic and a auto custom and every thing can be set from the skin on the fly.
Also added auto custom so you can have the netdetect update or run anything RR will do at update time. – hold the custom button to set.
The weather and traffic .exe’s have been refined to integrate with RR and fail safe the files they are downloading so if a file failed they restore the old file till the next download.
The weather updater will check to see if weather.com is present before running “RELOADWEATHER” command. – how many times have you had RR hang because of this.
These files are for this skin so good luck trying to use them in your skin.

You must have voice=true in rr.ini file to get the full benefit of this skin and these updates.

Update 3-12-07

Forgot to bypass the max vehicle speed for auto download when the cell phone is on.
Just drop this in the \Program Files\Road Runner\Skins\Chucks\Installs\Online folder.

In the process of adding auto cell phone dial in X amount of time if no wifi has been connected.

Update 3-17-07
Well this auto update thing is working excellent.

There different modes

Auto WiFi, Auto Cell phone and both together.

In auto WiFi you set the intervals to start hunting for a connection and when it finds one it checks to make sure your not going over the max speed you have set and downloads then starts the timer over.

In Auto Cell phone you set the intervals to start the dial-up and downloads at intervals set.

If auto WiFi and Auto Cell phone are selected it will start hunting for a WiFi connection at intervals set and if no connections are found it will start the cell timer and if no connections are found then start the dial-up and downloads

You must have voice=true in rr.ini file to get the full benefit of this skin and these updates.

EDIT; Added WiFi Hopper to the WiFi Scan skin

Beautiful Looking skin....

but I just cant seem to get it running. Downloaded the latest package (XIIII I think), and followed instructions in the readme. When I open RR and choose the XIIII skin and restart RR, I get the install screen. 1 and 2 seem to install correctly. When I click 3, it looks like Winamp stops in the background. But the install screen just sits there. I can close it with a right click, but then I go right back when I restart RR. I have read the entire thread and cant seem to make it work. I think I am missing something obvious but I cant tell what. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

==LawnGod

I changed some stuff in the command for 3 and it works for me but it must not on some pc so I will change it later.

For now open the skin.ini in the chucks folder and change the SETUPDONE=0 to SETUPDONE=1 and that should fix it

Make sure you are using the RoadRunner.exe in the chucks folder or newer.

EDIT; If you was not using the RoadRunner.exe in chucks folder then try it first before trying the skin.ini change and let me know.

Great skin, but I'm having a few problems

The skin looks great and I can't wait to use it, but I'm having a few problems.

-The top doesn't show up. It seems this is done with flash, but it doesn't work at all.
-The setup never completes. I tried chaning SETUPDONE=1, but from then on it never works right. I have to tried to configure buttons, and even when I enter button edit mode, clicking on a button and then an option (Audio MP3's for example) won't do anything.
-The exit option seems to do nothing at all. I have to right click on road runner to close.

Any help would be appreciated. It seems like I'm missing something simple, but I have no idea what. Thanks again for the great looking skin.

tboneuls (& LawnGOD too) - I had the exact same issues you describe last week and after repeated re-installs, I started typing a post here and noticed there is a RoadRunner.exe file in the Chucks directory. I copied that to my RoadRunner directory (2 levels up) and replaced the RoadRunner.exe that was installed by the RR installer (as Chuck mentions above)---and my problems went away! You might try that procedure, as I can confirm it worked for me.

YES YES YES YES YES

You must use the beta RoadRunner.exe file in the Chucks directory OR newer and replaced the RoadRunner.exe that was installed by the RR installer in the RoadRunner directory

I have an update coming out in a day or so to change day night skin automatically along with some bug fixes amd Smoother auto update for weather and traffic.

Wonderful skin...

Loads of options already installed. I will be running this skin. But I cant seem to get the Truetype Fonts correct. I followed the instructions about installing ChuckRR.ttf. But when I double-click the file, it just opens a doc with all the diff size symbols. Then when I open RR, some button indicators have a weird label.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much for a great skin.

Control panel

Fonts

File

Install new font

Then point it to ChucksRR.ttf file

UPDATE 3-25-06

Added Auto day night skin changes.
Changed the skin setup to use the actual audio player.jpg’s files so if you mod a skin it will show up – loads slower.
Only 14 *.jpg’s for each skin to change the whole appearance.
Improved the auto update stuff.
Fixed some bugs

You must have voice=true in rr.ini file to get the full benefit of this skin and these updates.
